We were contracted by the homeowners restoration contractor to repair a small section on the front of the home that had suffered fire damage. We did not reside the portion in question at the direction of the restoration contractor. We advised the homeowner that she should reach out to
both the restoration contractor and her insurance company. The homeowners insurance company has since than reached out to us and agreed that this portion of the work was not included in the original scope of work and that they were going to contact the homeowner and offer her a settlement so the work can be completed

We have apologized to our customer for our lack of communication with them and have addressed this problem internally with our staff. At this time their repair is complete and they have indicated back to us that they are happy, satisfied and communicated that they would
consider us on any future projects they may have

Revdex.com,
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *** and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Regards,

We have been in contact with the homeowner. Since his roof had been installed for over three years without a problem we are working with the manufacturer of the roofing product for the solution as this appears to be product failure. We have also covered the area in question to
mitigate the problem in the short term. once we have heard back from the manufacturer we will notify the homeowner

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: Do to mild winters over the course of the years following the
installation of the roof, there is, in fact, no proof that the roof has not been leaking since it's
installation, and that we did, in fact, have issues of problems with the roof following it's installation
in the form of water flowing thru the kitchen and back bathroom exhaust fans.Sincerely,*** ***

They have been in touch with me, but only after constant calling on my part.  They have made references to solutions, but as yet I have not seen
any concrete results.  We are now in the tenth month.

I hired McvAY Brothers for rain gutters. I paid way too much but needed a hassel free company. From the beginning it was a nightmare. It took 2 months for a 1 day job. I got every excuse in the book as to way they couldn't do the work every time they came out. Wrong color, wrong thickness, not painted, on and on. They had been out to my house 8 times and still didn't finish the job. I had to call and call. They left a hole in my siding and now that we are in the rain season, these rain gutters are a complete failure. They leak in all 6 corners. Not just leak drip drip but a river of water. They can't seem to get my phone # correct after 5 messages? A guy by the name of Craig showed up and I have never heard from him again. Then Mark McVay called and said he is the mircile man who could make my bran new gutters correct? Said he was coming over the next Monday and never showed. DON'T HIRE McVay Brothers! You WILL be sorry as I am! Having to take them to court, they don't stand by their product or installation.

Our work crew arrived to begin this project the afternoon of August 3rd.  We apologize that we did not communicate the short delay of the crew while they completed their previous project.

We have been in contact and are working with the homeowner directly to find a solution and resolution to his concerns.

Last year we had windows installed in our home. Since we knew we were going to spend quite a deal of money we were careful in choosing a good/reputable contractor. After consulting w/two other businesses we decided to go w/McVay's because of their "name". We figured since they had been around for a long time, they must be good. Unfortunately dealing w/this business turned into almost a year long ordeal. To date, I am still not satisfied w/their product. From the beginning things went wrong. We should have called off our agreement the day they brought the wrong windows. They cancelled dates, windows were installed incorrectly. Once the windows were installed we had a surmountable amount of problems with the windows....to date they still persist, but I am tired of trying to have them fixed. Out of the lot of windows they installed I can honestly say that only ONE of the windows was installed properly. Seems like communication between the staff & their workers is poor. We wasted over 3 weeks of vacation time due to their lack of poor planning, Calls would go unanswered. Several times we were scheduled for someone to come & fix the windows only to be stalled. What should have been a 3-day project (per McVay's) it turned out to be almost a 1 year. Their customer services were substandard. I would not recommend them, and do not believe their name held up to their reputation.

Review: We had metal roof installed 2 years ago, and it developed a leak. It took them 2 weeks to come out and fix it. Since then, we have developed another leak. I contacted them on 01/01/16 to report it and request the repair. I did not hear anything back. I contacted them 3 additional times and all three times I spoke with a person that stated they would put in a work order and have someone contact me. To date, 02/07/16, we have yet to hear anything back, and they have not returned my calls. All we want is for our roof to be repaired.Desired Settlement: That our roof will no longer leak.

Review: We had McVay Brothers install a new metal roof on our home with a skylight. This skylight last spring developed a leak into our main bathroom. We called for a service call. [redacted] and [redacted] came out to view the skylight situation. It was determined a new skylight kit should be installed correctly. This service was performed. The leaking skylight caused internal damage to our bathroom ceiling sheetrock. First appearing as a brown dirty leak, then grew to a black mold color till the repair kit was installed. Now the area is brown and that is very unsightly.I have called McVay Brothers for them to come fix this area and they at no time have followed through with any promises. We have been told by them we will call you by the end of the day several times and no calls have ever been made to us. My wife called for the last time on June 17th at 11:38 am. She spoke with Hope in the office who then referred her to [redacted]. She called [redacted] and he said he would be there by the end of the week to take a look and see about repairs. He never called or came by.This is unacceptable. We spent over $21,000 on our roof installation and for them to not come and do the right thing and repair our sheet rock which was damaged by the skylight kit being improperly installed in the first place is concerning. Our bathroom looks terrible and I want them to do what they need to do and that is repair this damage. I have never filed anything with Revdex.com ever before and I am astounded that I have had to do this for help in getting our house repaired!Desired Settlement: All we want is our ceiling repaired. They need to repair the sheetrock and inspect for the integrity of the structure behind the sheetrock for any water damage. Also to paint/or supply the funds to paint our ceiling to return to the original condition.

Business

Response:

McVay Brothers has contacted the customer and been back out to confirm that the skylight is still not leaking. We have made arrangements with a painting contractor, who has also been in contact with the customer, to schedule the drywall repair. We apologize for the break down in communication in our office when the customer contacted us to check the status of this repair.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9607343, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Thank you so much for your assistance in this matter. We greatly appreciate your help!

McVay Brothers, Inc. is not the company that they advertise....I had a new roof installed...paid for decking for damaged and old areas of roof.....the men that did the tear off left the old decking and applied the roofing paper on top of the old decking, damaged my trim boards and left nails all over our property....the City code states that roofing permits are to have two inspections....the first inspections when the decking and paper goes on and then a final.....neither was completed and I had to have the roofer and inspector come out tear off parts of the new roof to check that the work was completed....the salesman told us that McVay used the roofing carts to dump the shingles in so no damage would occur to our bushes and flower beds.....NOT....damage everywhere.....when McVay came back to fix our trim boards I was told that since I was getting vinyl to cover the boards that it did not matter that they were in half......haha.....doesn't keep the bees and bugs out with only half boards and the trim work would have nothing to nail to.....
I Would Never Recommend this Co to anyone....

I made an appointment for an estimate on the replacement of 2 sliding windows and an 8' x 8' sliding glass door during the week of March 9th. I was given an appointment for Wednesday March 18th at 9am. At 9:15 I called to find out if they were still coming or if they were delayed. I was told that there was a 9am -10am window and that if they were delayed that they would call. At 10:40 I called again since no one had arrived. I was asked who my appointment was with- DUH, I was never told who it was with. When I asked what they had in their computer concerning the appointment I was told that it had never been confirmed. This is just crazy. They give me a time and date then tell me a week later that it was not confirmed. Sorry, but you just lost out on 3 to 4 thousand dollars worth of business. I would never reccomend you to anyone.

In our experience, McVay Brothers is an A+++ company. We had extensive work done to our 106 year old home and could not be happier with the end result. The salesperson, job coordinator and installers were personable, polite, timely, highly skilled and an absolute pleasure. The scope of work was clearly communicated on all levels and the job was completed to the last detail in less time than anticipated. We recommend McVay Brothers without reservation.

NOT AT ALL IMPRESSED. First off mcvay bros windows (cour d'alene window company) TOTALLY misrepresented the performance of their windows online. When I reviewed their window with the loE270 glass it had a performance of u.25 and shgc.37 so that's what I expected. After the windows had been in production I find out that they only perform to u.30 and shgc.30 which is significantly less than what their website leads an individual to believe. If one visits their website (www.coeurd'alene window.com) click the button that says "the glass" and look at what they claim the loE270 does and, according to their sales rep, "there is no way to achieve those ratings with that glass". Even after this I decided to go with them because of time restraints of finding another manufacturer. I am building a 4,000 square foot house in the Pacific Northwest and need to dry it in NOW. They also misrepresented their delivery date and now I have to wait another week while my $350,000 house is saturated with water and will soon rot. Maybe the window quality will offer this company some redemption. I'm a general contractor specializing in new residential construction and major remodel I have dealt with a lot of other window companies and this experience has been disappointing so far.
