Mrs*** is obviously confused and should reconsider her inaccurate statementsHer halftruths that are stated will not get her out of owing a legitimate chargeThis debt is owing, valid,and currently in collections
This unit is not under ANY warranty through *** and they have provided her numeroustimes information indicating that this unit was purchased as a reconditioned model with noseale~ system warranty beyond one year of the purchaseMrs*** was informed of this infebruary and thus why the compressor was not replaced thenMrs***'s phone call to theauthorized parts distributor has resulted in much of her confusing as they claim the unit to beunder full warrantyConfusion is not an excuse for stop payment of a check of an authorizedrepairPayment of$was agreed on upon verbally, was accepted by Mrs*** and sheprovided a check to be given to us by the realtor working with Mrs***
In addition, the conversation with ***'s representative in regards to the capillary tube/heatexchanger replacement were in addition to the replacement of the compressorA replacement ofthe compressor was needed to end the noise, which was Mrs*** complaint in 02/Oncethe repair of the compressor was completed, additional faults were found*** and M&DAppliance were working to get Mrs*** secondary issue covered under a "one time" repairspecial authorizationUpon receiving the stop payment notification, we halted any further repairsand notified ***Mrs*** has not been reasonable to speak with since and rather hostileand threateningIt is our feeling she is trying to get something for free rather than takeresponsibility for her debt
To date, Mrs*** is still very confused and is misleading in her complaintI wouldrecommend that she take a step back and reevaluate the information that is readily available toher regarding her warranty and realize that she owes this valid debtCollection efforts willcontinue and any further communications will be delivered to the collection agency to help inour efforts to be paid for work doneWe will no longer entertain this preposterous complaint.Respectfully,David C***M&D Appliance Service

Mrs. [redacted] called and scheduled service for both her washer and dryer. She requested the washer be addressed for a leak around the door and the dryer for a general maintenance check and a lint cleaning. The service she was provided  for each appliance was the following:APPLIANCE A: The washer...

was observed and the seal was attempted to be reset by cleaning the window. There was a build up of soap sm and hair that could break the seal. The attempt failed and a new door boot or door gasket was suggested. We ordered and purchased the part but when we received the part the cost was above the norm and the customer was informed. We provided the cost $306.45 (part and labor) plus tax to perform the repair to the customer. This is when the customer became distressed and verbally abusive to my office staff.APPLIANCE B: The dryer was assessed and determined with the amount of lint build up beyond the appliance, it was advised to Mrs. [redacted] to contact Jerry's Duct Cleaning or a duct cleaning service to address the venting beyond the appliance itself. We do not nor is our expertise to "clean" or perform maintenance on anything but the appliance itself.  In addition, because this unit is stacked it would require another technician to come to her home and another fee for a 2nd technician, not including labor.  Simply, it would be more cost effective to the customer to contact a company specializing in vent cleaning. This customer was provided a service of proper diagnosing of both her washer and her dryer. A service fee total of $144.00 plus tax was due but we waived the fee for the dryer as there was little we could do with what the customer was needing. She had no complaints of service until it was quoted to her the cost of the suggested repair. She claimed that she already told us what was needed and that we were scamming her and customers out of money with requiring the technician to diagnose properly, etc...  Claiming she was a doctor of the medical profession and this was absurd. When asked if she discounts patients that come in with a cold, that know they have a cold, but get diagnosed as having a common cold she become flustered and threatened legal action and contacting Revdex.com.  As far as the parts being offered through Sears for $84.48. As explained to the customer, we do not use Sears for our parts distributor. We use Reliable Parts which their suggested retail is $196.45 plus shipping. The part number is [redacted]. The customer certainly has the right to refuse further service and take her business elsewhere, perhaps to A&E Appliance Repair - a Sears owned service company that can offer the part pricing and labor at a different cost. The customer still is responsible for the service performed and the fee attached to it. There is no reimbursement allocated at this time.This customer has been tagged in our system as "NO SERVICE" due to her becoming verbally abusive over the phone. M&D Appliance Service did provide service and advised a compressor replacement in February of 2015. Per themanufacturer, [redacted], this unit was a "reconditioned model" and held no warranty for the suggested sealed systemrepair. Mrs. [redacted] was unaware of the terms of...

her unit warranty and advised M&D Appliance that she could not dothe repair at that time.
We were contacted again by Mrs. [redacted] in October 2015 because she is selling her home and the refrigerator repairwas now required .. We ordered the parts, advised the cost and arranged the replacement of the noisy compressor. We met with her realtor on 11/04/15, completed the repair and found additional problems. We were provided a check of $99.00 which came back as "payment stopped".
When Mrs. [redacted] was contacted regarding the stop payment, she informed the office manager that we incorrectlycharged her for a repair that was under warranty and we needed to confab with [redacted] to get things straight. Mrs.[redacted] refused to listen to reason and to correct the payment for the work performed. We are in the process ofcollection efforts, including processing a lien on her home.
M&D Appliance Service has been in contact with [redacted] and what they have offered Mrs. [redacted] is to cover the partthat was discovered to have failed after our initial retest of the compressor replacement. [redacted] has not offered orinformed us of any arrangements other than covering the part for the new suggested repair. Mrs. [redacted] would beresponsible for any labor.
The unit had a noisy compressor and required replacement to restore proper operation of the compressor. This hasbeen repaired and $998.00 is owing and valid. Any form of arrangements Mrs. [redacted] feels was offered to her oncontinued repairs and/or previous repairs needs to be negotiated, approved and assigned proper authorization with[redacted].

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:  The work that was requested was not performed.  Additionally, the parts needed was an air condensor and an air capillary tube, not an air compressor which are very different.
On November 5th when I called the [redacted] Certified Parts factory, I was advised by [redacted] at 888-[redacted]-[redacted] (after providing her the serial number) that the parts on the freezer were covered for 12 years (since 2005) and that there were 2 years remaining on the warranty for the parts needed.  I then contacted [redacted]'s representative, VJ and M&D's representative, Eric, who advised me that [redacted] would cover the capillary tube but I would have to pay for the air condensor.  I agreed to pay and asked for the cost and part number. Eric advised me that the item # for the air condensor was 7029366 and would cost $105.77.
I advised Eric of M&D that I would be willing to pay the cost of the air condensor and labor if they re-calculated the cost since originally M&D was charging me $998 for parts that were not needed.  Eric called me a day later and stated that Dave, the Technician would come to the house on 11/30 to do the repairs.  And, then on November 16th I got a call from Amanda, office manager at M&D,  who stated that they were taking me to collections for payment of $998 for work that was never performed.
I have been in contact with the Customer Advocate, [redacted], at [redacted] who has been attempting to bring resolution, but to date, has not been successful.  M&D has threatened a lien on my home and starting collections.  This is very interesting since the work was never done nor have I received an itemized bill for work performed.
I am still trying to resolve the issues with M&D and have decided to wait to have the [redacted]-[redacted] freezer repaired until my home on Bainbridge Island sells since I have relocated back to California.
