To whom it may concern,

You have my complete cooperation with this matter. [redacted] wanted to rescind the payment made to MRMD after documents were provided as a result of "Build it Back" program offering to complete the project with out cost. As per our agreement...

[redacted] received a [redacted] specific general liability insurance for $5,000,000.00, in which this was processed for the specific address and issued as well as work permit applications before the payment.  The [redacted] is valid until Feb **, 2015 and can not be undone.  Please note that it was intended for MRMD to provided the GC services as well as providing a smooth transition to obtain the paper work necessary to supply active work permits, among other weekly/monthly supervision responsibilities. [redacted] was intended to act as the [redacted] for the project. There was no initial contract to re-build the entire project home on the property, if there was we would provide. The requested amount  was not returned to [redacted] because M[redacted]RMD is liable for the above mentioned cost for the [redacted]. The out of pocket cost for us was 1,500 + notary costs. Also, please be aware that [redacted] still has ALL documents provided.

[redacted] also filed a claim in Queens smalls claims court against MRMD,with a  court date for May **, 2015.  Index #: [redacted]
Please feel free to contact me with any further questions.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because the contractor continues to make false statements and has not issued the prior agreed upon refund.

I have reviewed the response from MRMD in detail and can attest that he is making false statements. I was never informed that an insurance policy was ever taken out until October [redacted], 2014 (see attached email chain) and have been provided no proof that the policy even exists even though we have been attempting to get this refund issued since June 2014. In addition, I was never provided any documentation as the contractor has stated. No permits were ever pulled for this construction job so the claim by MRMD that I have been provided all of the necessary paperwork is not true. In MRMD's response to the Revdex.com he stated that insurance policy cost him $1,500 but in the email chain that I attached he stated that the policy cost him $1,000. I have continued to try and resolve this matter in good faith both directly with the contractor as well as through [redacted] from [redacted] who is the wife of my architect and was the one who originally referred MRMD Corp to me. See attached email support, [redacted] from MRMD agreed on October [redacted] over email, which I have attached to this response, to issue a refund in the amount of $1,500 which I accepted as long as the refund was issued timely but to date he has not issued the refund and has continued to be unresponsive. I have attached a copy of the email correspondence with [redacted] as [redacted] from MRMD would only respond to her. In his correspondence with [redacted] he stated to her that he would issue the refund and that the insurance only cost him $1,000. This email was also the first time that I was ever told that an insurance policy was obtained but no proof has been provided. I am available for any questions that you may have in regards to this response.

Review: I hired MRMD NY Corp to be the general contractor for the rebuilding of my home that was destroyed during Hurricane Sandy and paid him a deposit of $2,250. This contractor needed to register with the NYC Build it Back grant program to be on the approved contractor list which he later refused to do because he did not want the City of NY to have detailed information relating to his business so it was decided that we would not work together and that he would refund the deposit. It has been four months and he has not refunded the deposit back.Desired Settlement: Return of entire deposit of $2,250
