Review: This is a medical billing outsourcing company that sent us a document that looks like a bill. It says "statement." It says "Patient Due." It has columns for 30, 60, 90, 120 days late. It informs you to make checks payable to "[redacted] Medical Group." It says if you made a payment "please disregard this BILL." In fact, upon careful inspection each line item says "INSURANCE NEEDS COB." Only on the back of the document is this explained as a medical billing coordination process. The services were rendered by "[redacted] Medical Group" on 10/**/13, 11/**/13, and 11/**/13 according to the documentation for my husband. The first document from this billing oursourcing company same 10/**/14. That's almost 1 year later. I have no recollection of these services nor any service named "[redacted]" administered to my husband. The name even sounds strange. There is barely any itemization. So the first documentation was provided almost a year later, made to look like a bill, and has a "Patient Due" column that encourages one to pay. I believe they may have billed insurance improperly, and are now trying to bill us for their mistakes. They are threatening to send us to collections sometimes, and other times saying "don't worry about it, we'll coordinate with the doctor" and fix the issue with insurance. 2 weeks later they have no response from the doctor. They will not put is on contact with the medical practice so that we may even establish that the bill is legitimate or correct it ourselves.Desired Settlement: Correct any insurance-related issues in a timely matter. If there was an error made in the medical billing that is of no fault of our own preventing them from receiving compensation, we are not be responsible since we were notified only a year later. At any point we would have helped provide insurance information or help clarify records. It has been a year! Provide an accurate accounting of what the billing matter is. Provide contact information for the medical practice known as "[redacted] Medical Group [redacted]" instead of refusing to do so.
Furthermore, please stop sending documents that look like bills to people who had coverage for rendered services and hope they pay. This really looks like a bill. Many people may simply pay.
