Dear Revdex.com,
I am writing in reference to the complaint presented by Mrs***She called my business on 12/18/and asked for the price to change a water pumpI gave her an estimated price of $over the phoneLater on the same day Mrs*** arrived to my business
driving her car ( Chevrolet Malibu 2011)As I checked the engine oil I quickly realized that it had water mixed with itThis happened because she decided to driver her car with the water pump brokenRight then I explained to her that she also needed the head gasket replaced. She was given an estimated price of $1400 for both items to be replaced. I also gave her an estimated time of days for her car to be ready. Mrs*** agreed to get her car fixed and made a deposit of $with her credit cardI then drove her myself to the airport since she decided to rent a car in the mean time, knowing that this cost would not be cover by my business.The car was fixed by 12/28/2015, days later than the initial estimated finished timeI called her and let her know that her car was ready to be picked up but she stayed the following : "I have no money to pay the remaining of my bill, I am waiting for my father to give me this money so that I can pay you"days after this conversation Mrs***'s father called to make a payment over the phone by credit cardThe payment was collected on 12/30/2015. Once I received the payment I personally delivered the car to her home at no extra cost
There is a sign posted in a noticeable place at the entry wall of my business that reads as follows: " Attention costumers, remember that all prices and times are estimatedWe can not guarantee themThey are subject to change once we initiate the work on your vehicle"Along with the visible sigh I also verbally discussed this policy with Mrs*** on our first meetingAs you can imagine in my line of business it is virtually impossible to guarantee either prices or finishing timesIn the case of Mrs***'s car I had a day delay because the water pump that she brought was not working and I had to re ordered another one, removed the first installation and then re install the 2nd pump. The receipt for this transaction can be provided upon request
Her request for me to pay her car rental fee is unacceptableFirst, she new the car was going to be at the shop for at least days, she decided to rent a car knowing this information, and knowing as well that I never offered to pay for this costI indeed had a day delay, however as explained before, there is a sing that stays that all times and prices are just and ESTIMATESecond, she left the car sitting in my shop for an extra days before making a full paymentI am assuming that she used her rented car these days, which will make it even more unfair for me to have to pay for this billThird, I did not charge her an storage fee or a delivery fee because I felt sorry that she did not even had the money to pay for the repair of her carI found it very disappointing that she is now trying to get money from me since all I did was trying to help herI repaired her car at a very low price, I took her to the airport to rent a car, I voided the storage fee for the extra days she had her car fixed just sitting on my lot, and I delivered her car for free to her own home
I hope you understand that this request is unacceptable and her complaint needs to be dismissedPlease let me know if there is any further information that you may need from me, if you need any pictures from my shop showing the sign mentioned above I will be happy to provide them
