The customer brought their vehicle in saying it would stall when they were coming to a stop and would hesitate when acceleratingThey also mentioned that some wires were hanging from the front of his vehicleAfter bringing the vehicle in we did not notice any wires hanging down so I
called to see what his actual complaint wasThey told me that it was not wires hanging down but some plastic hanging downI told them I would see what we could do and get back with themWe reattached the plastic piece at no charge and continued to diagnosis the vehicleAfter pulling a spark plug we realized they were in very bad shape so we recommended a tune up which I called and told customer about and they agreed to the repairsAnytime we work on a vehicle we always check fluid levels, belts, hoses, etcIn this case we noticed the coolant level of the vehicle was low so we pressure tested the coolant system to see if we could detect a leakWe found that there was a pin hole leak in the coolant reservoir tankI called the customer and let them know about the leak and they also agreed to the repairAfter both repairs my technician started the vehicle and we both noticed the starter was draggingI told my technician to shut it off and start it again so we could listen againOn the second try the starter just clicked and would not engageWe checked for power and ground at the starter and found that both were presentAt this time I called the customer to tell them about what had happened and gave them a price for a new (not used) starterThey came down so I could show them the car was not starting and the starter was just clickingA few minutes later they came in my office and told me they wanted to pay for the repairs we had done and that someone else would be coming to get the vehicleThey asked me before leaving if once they had a starter put on the vehicle if it would no longer stall and hesitateI told the customer that I felt comfortable that the repairs we did would fix the vehicle but reminded them I had not had a chance to test drive the vehicle because once we finished our repairs the starter would not start the vehicleThe next day or possible the day after the customer called and told me the vehicle was still hesitating while drivingI apologized to the customer and told them I would be glad to take care of the issueThey set an appointment with me Friday, September 12,
