Emergency Department at *** *** *** *** on 05/06/and 05/12/During both visits, Mr*** was examined and treated by healthcare providers employed by our company
Mr*** alleges that he was only seen by one doctor between the two visitsI have fully reviewed his medical charts for both visitsWhen he was seen at *** *** *** *** on 05/06/2015, he was examined and treated by *** *** a licensed and certified Physician Assistant (PA-C)His chart was reviewed and signed by Dr*** *** In Illinois, all Physician Assistants must work under a supervising physician, and the supervising physician has to co-sign ALL charts that are written by the Physician AssistantWhen a patient is seen by a PA-C, TEAMHealth bills the insurance company on behalf of both providersThe PA-C is the primary provider, and the medical doctor is the secondary providerThat is exactly what was done for the May 6th visit
When Mr*** returned to the Emergency Department at *** *** *** *** on 05/12/2015, he was examined and treated by Dr*** ***She was the sole medical provider for the visit on May 12th, Mr*** was billed for her services for this second visit
It is my determination that Mr*** was appropriately billed for each of the two visits
FINANCIAL BREAKDOWN of PATIENT'S BILLS:
Date of service 5/6/the amount of the bill was $There was a managed care adjustment in the amount of -$leaving a balance of $The patient's insurance applied $towards his deductible
Regarding 5/12/15, the amount of the bill was $There was a managed care adjustment of -$and the insurance company paid $This left a balance of $which the patient owes
