Mr*** has a current and valid membership agreement with us, and it was explained several times and the same was confirmed that there is a $annual fee that is charged to his account to maintain his membership, whether his
account is frozen or activeWe have tried to resolve this situation in the most amicable way on several occasions, however, he has established an unreasonable position and is unwilling to follow our policyWhile we do our best to maintain healthy relationships with our clients, this consumer should understand that we cannot change our overall policy because one person refuses to acknowledge itThank youl
The only reason why this account was sent to collections is because this consumer refused to pay his balance after services were renderedWe gave him ample opportunity to resolve his account, but unfortunately he didn't respond
until after he was sent to collections, resulting in the default of his agreeementWhile we showed our appreciation and loyalty to resolve this matter at the earliest convenience possible, this consumer actually demanded that we send him to collections as stalling tactic or a deferral of this issue to cause more complicationsWe always treat our clients with kindness and respect, and disagree with the comments in his complaintUnfortunately, we've already discounted the balance by eliminating the late fees on the accountAt this point, the remaining balance will remain outstanding and due upon receipt, as we've done everything possible to accommodate this clientThank you
Mr*** was obligated to an 18month agreement, not a month agreementHe was instructed to give a notice of cancellation as required in
his membership agreementHe is only paying for his obligationI explained that we cannot verbally cancel an agreement over the phone, especially an early cancellation request that was premature to terminateJust like other establishments that have cancellation policies, we have ours, which happens to be one of the most easiest practices in the area; either cancel in person or send us a certified letterI further explained that we always follow "the law" as far as what's governed by the Division of Consumer Affairs and how they apply to healthclub membershipsWe followed our policy correctly and amicably
I am rejecting this response because: After the first $was assessed from my credit card without warning,I informed membership that I would like to be notified in advance and given the oppurtunity to cancel my membership beforehand.This did not happen.In addition,I was told that to cancel my membership I would need to send a certified letter to management.This policy was not presented when I joined MAC,so I do not feel obligated to comply with it.To whom it may concern,I hearby cancel my membership and will not recommend MAC to anyone.Regards,
