Meadowood Mall Shopping Center Reviews (1)

We visited Meadowood Mall on December 26th at about 1:00 p.m. I was with a party of 2 other people. We stopped at the [redacted]. There was very little seating provided, however, we did find 2 seats and 1 of us had to sit on a low table. After we were there for about 5 minutes mall security came over to ask us to move. I believe we were profiled because of the religious symbol we all wear. The security guards name was "[redacted]" and he was very rude to us. There was no problem created by how we were seated, and in all honesty, if the mall would provide more adequate seating this wouldn't of been a problem at all. The seating at this large [redacted] is less than the seating at their smaller restaurants. I did file a complaint with mall customer service and was assured someone would contact me in the next few days, however, over a week has gone by and I have heard nothing.Product_Or_Service: [redacted]Desired SettlementI would request a letter of apology from security guard "[redacted]" and mail officials.Business Response This complaint has been sent to Meadowood Mall LLC. that functions in the capacity of a commercial real estate company and property manager of Meadowood Mall. The complaint is against a security officer of [redacted] versus Meadowood Mall LLC. Meadowood Mall LLC is not the employer of "[redacted]". In response to this complaint we have inquired with [redacted], a contracted company in this regard. They explain that [redacted] was violating the mall policy by sitting on tables and causing safety concern. This is prohibited. Damage to the mall property and liability can occur from this as the tables are not designed to be sat on. Additionally, [redacted] indicates that [redacted] was combative when politely approached regarding the concern. Meadowood Mall recently installed five new seating areas greatly increasing the seating areas. December 26 is always one of the busiest days of the year so seating would be at capacity. We all have to wait for seats at restaurants, etc. when business is at capacity.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I think my issue here is that the response from Meadowood Mall does not address the actual issue, and that is mall customer service. First off, I'm not sure about all these new seating areas. If they are in other parts of the mall then it doesn't apply to the [redacted] area where the incident took place. There is 1 seating area behind the [redacted] with a total of 11 seats. (By comparison, an average [redacted] restaurant is about double to triple that.) Second at issue is that the "tables" are of the same height and configuration as the seats, and at the time this happened in a more affluent mall the design for both shouldn't be of the same height. That all being the case it isn't the real point here. When the incident was reported to customer service, the customer service representative said a manager would contact me in the next few days. This never happened, which means the customer service representative flat out lied to me. In fact, it took filing this complaint with the Revdex.com to even get a response at all. Second, I deny being combative in any capacity, but was a little surprised admittedly, but nothing beyond that. Therefore, [redacted] flat out lied in their response to Meadowood Mall LLC.if that is in fact what was said. So it seems here that customer service representative of Meadowood Mall has lied, and that [redacted] has also lied. At the time this happened I had two additional people in my party who witnessed the problem as well as a pocket recorder. In both cases it shows that Meadowood Mall, LLC., response is incorrect at best and misleading at worse. Final Business Response [redacted], [redacted] has been established near this area for many years and has a small designated seating area that is a different seating area within the lease line of [redacted]. It is very small, maybe two or three tables with seats to the left of the counter area versus the mall general seating area behind [redacted]. [redacted] does not involve itself in the [redacted] seating area as that area is the responsibility of [redacted] versus Meadowood Mall LLC which contracts with [redacted] to provide security services to the common area, but not individual stores. The area you were sitting on a table is in the mall general common area that has no affiliation with [redacted]. This area was recently added to the mall with four other seating/table/landscape areas throughout the mall as part of an initiative for additional general customer seating unrelated to [redacted]. There is no issue with any customer sitting in the area, including a [redacted] customer, but this is to explain that there isn't any formula for a restaurant involved as this was added many years after the [redacted] and [redacted] leased seating area was established. I am sorry if customer service did not forward a concern, but as you can tell by this response, we do respond to visitors and store customers and frankly the Revdex.com is not the place for such an inquiry. They typically review contractual concerns between parties that have conducted specific business together. The mall reaches full capacity during the holidays as do many restaurants and establishments, but we can't let people sit on unsafe tables or park cars in planter beds, etc. when space is short. There is a certain order that must be kept for the well being of all especially during the rushed and busy holiday times. The contract security was doing the right thing to contact you. I am sorry if they offended you in their communication effort. We have shared your concern with them. You are always welcome to contact us directly at [redacted]. Both [redacted] and myself ([redacted]) can be reached there. We hope you have a better experience during your next shopping trip.
