Review: I contacted MEC Party rentals in April about delivering a variety of items to my fathers 60th birthday party in June. They presented me with a contract/invoice stating the delivery fee would be $40 and I then paid them a $100 deposit via credit card over the phone. A few days before the party, they called me asking for the delivery address. I gave it to the female owner and she said she would have to change the delivery price and raise it by $100 because she didn't know it was so far away. I emailed her back saying that I told her in my very first email what the address was for the party and that I already had a contract from them stating the price, and that is the contract which I paid my deposit on. I also forwarded her the email to show her that I in fact gave her the delivery address long ago, and it wasn't my fault she lost it. She then informed me she was wrong, and very sorry, but they would have to raise it $40 (instead of the $100) if I still wanted to use them for the job. I said yes, because at that point it was so close to the party date I was afraid to switch companies and I had already paid MEC my $100 deposit. After agreeing to her additional $40 fee, I asked her to send me over a new invoice and I would call her with payment for the balance. She never responded and after several more attempts to contact them that day, I received a VERY rude email back from the male owner stating that they were now too busy to do the job they thought, and would get back to me in the am, they were closed now. (This was in fact, THE DAY BEFORE the delivery was supposed to happen). I was so furious I told them to give me my deposit back and that I would be reporting them to the Revdex.com. He assured me I would get my deposit back the next day. They never showed up for the job, and I have never received my initial $100 deposit back even after repeated promises from them that I would.Desired Settlement: This business should be shut down they are extremely un-ethical and rude and disorganized. They have MANY complaints on the Revdex.com website as well as many bad reviews online. I would like my deposit back and to see them penalized for their un-ethical actions in some way so that they do not continue to do this to another consumer.

This company allowed me to pay in cash so I could get a 20% discount. I paid in full knowing that I would need to reduce the amount of tables and chairs that I would be renting and they agreed to reimburse me for the lowered quantites.I met them at the Arrnot Lions Park with $1066.00, the full amount in cash. I asked that they deliver the chairs, tables and linens on the Friday of the wedding by noon. The week before, I was getting calls from the venue telling me that the delivery of chairs and table were there, this was at 8:30 pm. I called and let them know that our wedding was on the 17th of August, the following week. They took the supplies back. The following Monday I talked to one of the owners [redacted]) who said her partner ([redacted]) wanted to charge me $200.00 for the wrong delivery date and because the guys worked until midnight. I told them I would pay them $150.00 for the added trip, but that they would not have been working until 12 am if they had delivered them at the right time which was 12 pm on August 16th. We decided there was miscommunication on both sides, she put the wrong date on the contract, and I didn't check the contract close enough. That is why I was willing to pay the extra delivery charge. So, [redacted] and I decided that after the extra $150.00 delivery charge, the deduction of the number of chairs and tables, and linens and an increase in table skirts that I would owe them $14.00. She said forget it an that we were good. When they delivered on August 16th, the white chairs and tables were delivered on an open flatbed trailer and were so, so filthy! I had mentioned that the white chairs were very dirty and [redacted], the man who delivered the stuff said it was because of the roads. There was dirt, rocks, hay, and all sorts of stuff on these chairs (240 --took forever to clean). He then told me that I owed $150.00 cash or he could not unload the tables and chairs. I had him call [redacted] and she made up a story. I mentioned I could not believe that she was making up a story and then she put Dave on. He said either I pay or they will take everything back. I said I had $60.00 cash and I would write a check for the rest. I also said the $150.00 is nothing compared to the business he was going to lose because of the scam he was pulling off. He didn't care. He said I could do what I wanted. So I wrote the check, and put bribery in the memo. A little later he called back and yelled at me and said that if I didn't pay $50.00 more on a credit card. I didn't realize it, but I only paid him $100.00. I apologized and gave him a credit card to charge the $50.00 on and also the $40.00 from the check I wrote and returned the check. And that is what he did. This company had me against the wall and I had no choice but to pay. When they picked up the chairs and tables, they had a covered trailer to put the cleaned up chairs and tables in. I am going to dispute my credit card payment and hopefully get at least $90.00 back, but if not, the mistake of delivering a week early cost me $300.00 extra. I should have done my homework on this company. If I did, I would not have done business with this company.
