Medciphers

Medciphers is in healthcare for the money, care is not an option. Initially, the company will assure you of their professionalism and ability to fulfill the patients needs but DO NOT BE FOOLED!!! Christy and the aides are unprofessional and rude; she frequently contradicts herself. The company is understaffed since aides are hired from care.com. Phone interviews are the only means of vetting the aides and may lack proper training to handle the needs of total care patients. By the way, Christy asked me several times if I had friends who could fill the contract. I would not need Medciphers if such were the case.

BEWARE: some of the aides (most I encountered) have personal issues ("former" drug use) that become evident early. Tardiness, absences, and laziness will be common. My loved one had two open wounds within four weeks of a Medicphers aide arrival. Christy will blame the client/family if you complain about the aides. For example, an aide had only been on the assignment for five days and was late twice for a 10a-5p shift that was 15 minutes from her home. I called Christy to find out why the aide was not at work she said, "I told her to stay home since she would be 90 minutes because I did feel she would be let in the home." The rationale behind this decision defies common sense since there was no precedence for her to base this course of action. When I told Christy this was the lady's 2nd time tardy she replied, "You are nitpicking." Keep in mind, four days earlier she advised me to tell her if there were any problems. I can only surmise tardiness does not fall into the realm of problems. Aides have come to my home unskilled, unaware of infection control, begging for food, asking to wear my loved ones clothing, and dressed inappropriately just to name a few of the issues I encountered and none of it was considered a problem. Do not use this company!
