Hello,

I recently received in the US Mail a "Final Notice" for a bill from this company for $5.33 The letter is threatening and demanding in nature, saying "this is your final notice and collection action will be taken if we do not receive payment by 3/9/20.

The only problem is: I paid this bill and have the cleared check written on January 25, 2020 from my military service federal credit union for $5.33 that Medford Radiology Group cashed on January 30, 2020. I followed all the instructions, putting my Medford Radiology Group account number on the check, Acct # *** (this is also on copy of cleared check) This $5.33 bill was from an x-ray I had done in Medford, OR through Providence Medical Center, Medford. Yet the billing address for Medford Radiology Group is in Seattle, WA, which seems suspicious, especially since they already cashed my check and are now demanding payment for something I already paid them for.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me I do however wish to clarify a few things: At the time that of the billing, we did live at [redacted] in [redacted] There were no updates to MRG's files needed at that time No bill was received at our home We had several issues getting mail at that address, and I did notify the post office of that issue I do not understand why an account would be sent to collection in March of when the service was done at the end of January Given insurance process times, etc - this seems entirely quick to be turning an account over to a collection agency There was no need to find a corrected address as we lived at that home until May 15, and did forward our mail to our new address, which at that time was a rental in [redacted] until we found a home The collection agency NEVER found my corrected address, they never mailed a statement or if they did, it was never received I received zero phone calls or messages in regards to this from the collection agency After finding out about the debt owed, I immediately made contact to the collection agency I do appreciate the phone call that I received from Ben Smith, the new director of operations at MRG I do understand that it takes awhile to update credit issues through the credit bureau I will follow up with them to make sure that this has been taken care of I also appreciate MsM [redacted] 's time in submitting her response Sincerely, [redacted] , (or " [redacted] ")

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity on behalf of The *** Radiological Group(MRG) and their billing service McKesson to reply to Ms ***'s complaint letter.I have reviewed Ms ***'s son's account with MRG, the Mckesson billing office staff,and the
collection agencyMckesson sent the account to the collection agency in March 2015.The account was turned over to the collection agency because the statement mailed toMs*** was returned to us as an incorrect address
Ms *** is entirely correct that her insurance applied their payment to her deductible,and that she did owe MRG $What Ms *** would not know is that MRGreceives patient billing information electronically from the hospital location where the servicewas providedIf the hospital files have not been updated, then unfortunately MRG's files willnot be updated eitherThe billing office makes an effort to find a corrected address bysearching our own files and the hospital records, and if we cannot locate an address correctionwe will only then send the account to the collection agencyThe collection agency then makesa number of attempts to collect the bill prior to listing any patient's account with a creditbureau
In the case of Ms ***'s account the collection agency found her correct address andmailed her a statement in April When the collection agency was not contacted or paidafter sending the statement, they then called Ms *** in May and again in JulyUnfortunately, the agency had to leave her voice messages after each phone contacteffortWhen the agency's attempts to contact Ms *** were unsuccessful they finallylisted her account with the credit bureau in July
As Ms *** described in her complaint letter she did pay her account in early Marchand the collection agency now shows the account is paidIt should be removed from hercredit report within the next daysThere is nothing the agency can do at this point to speedup this process
We are all sorry Ms ***'s credit rating has been affected by this event
