THE REAL STORY [redacted] originally brought vehicle in for a valve adjustment due to very loud tapping noiseduring the inspection we found the push-rod tube retainer springs broken and pinched under the rocker assembly, damaging push rodThe push rod was replaced as well as the retainers after repairing damage to the cylinder head and rocker guideValve were adjusted to specThen the spark plug wires were found to be arcing, plug wires were replaced and timing adjustedspark plugs and distributor cap were found to be goodVehicle was returned to **.The [redacted] returned stating that the engine hesitates on acceleration, further inspection found broken wiring, vacuum lines and mass air flow meter not taking adjustment, although we tried everything we could the air flow meter would not properly control fuel mixture, part was found to be for a VW bug not the van it had been installed inThe [redacted] said that he could get a new one from someone he knew for thee hundred dollars he took the vehicle during the time he got the partWhen he brought the meter to us it was different from the old one and was found to not fit the wiring harness, we informed the [redacted] and he took it to get another oneAfter receiving another meter from the [redacted] and the vehicle we installed the part and adjustedvehicle was running good [redacted] returned saying that the van ran very good but sometimes stalled at stops so we told him that we could turn up the idle because it seemed to be slowing at stopsA few days later the [redacted] came in saying that sometimes the ignition switch would do nothing when he turned it, we found ignition switch worn and not making contact, no damage was found, only a year old electrical part that had worn outThe switch was replaced and idle adjusted, [redacted] was advised of what was done and advised to let us know how it worked for him [redacted] came in on Monday morning may 23rd saying that it wasn't running right and wanted us to look at it again [redacted] was told that we could not get it in due to the shop being so busy that day [redacted] got mad that his vehicle would not be looked at immediately, [redacted] started threatening the service adviser and told him that he didn't know who he was messing withhe was told that he could take the vehicle somewhere elseA couple days later he approached me in front of the shop, I let him rant until he started the same threatening behavior, that's when I told him we were done talking, he continued to vent and that's when I told him that the entire town thinks he's a [redacted] because he acts like thatI could have held my tongue but I let the threats get under my skin [redacted] started saying that the air flow meter was $then posted on line that it was $now claims it was $ no vehicles are ever smoked in as a shop policy and I have never seen and of my employees doing such things[redacted] has never paid for repairs on this vehicle, as a neighbor we were trying to help him [redacted] has also not paid for repairs on his other vehicles even though he has had no problemsthe horn not working was never brought up to me until he started posting trash on lineThe [redacted] is driving this vehicle daily even though he claims it doesn't runThe disputed amount seems to be just another fabrication due to the fact that he has never paid anything for the parts or the countless hour spent trying to repair a very poorly maintained vehicle
