To Whom it May Concern, We are responding to a complaint we received regarding a patient of one of our clients.  Due to HIPAA regulations, and for the protection of the patient and medical provider, we can release limited information regarding this account.  But what we can state is...

that there was a balance applied to patient deductible from a government payer.   As a general statement, under government regulations, providers are required to bill patients for all applicable patient responsibility including, but not limited to, co-insurance, co-pays and deductibles.  We have several previous documented communications where our office tried to explain this to the person filing the complaint why they owed their balance.   Due to the patient’s multiple threatening complaints received by our office regarding their owed balance, we even contacted the patient’s insurance to let them know of the patient’s complaint and to confirm the balance was legitimate and owed by the patient for their deductible.  The insurance notated our response and confirmed patient responsibility.  In the end, the provider’s office decided to write off the deductible that was truly owed by the person filing the complaint due to noncompliance.  This was done on 11/28/17.  Even with the writing off of the legitimately owed deductible balance, the patient still chose to file a complaint that was undue and unjust.  Medical Billing Solutions, Inc always tries to resolve any miscommunication that patients may have.  We always train our staff to take their time to talk to patients so they understand why they owe their balances and to make sure everything has been processed correctly.  We feel this complaint is not creditable with no error due to the medical provider or our end.  Our company nor the medical provider has no ill will towards the individual filing this complaint.  Hopefully this brings clarification to the matter. Thank You, [redacted], CPB, CPPMOperations Manager
