I met with [redacted] when she came to our front desk area to see me about a complaint.  We met at 1:30pm on 8/6/14 for over an hour.  [redacted] relayed her concerns which were mostly about her original meetings with [redacted].  She felt she was told what the total...

out-of-pocket cost was for her program.  I explained she was packaged for [redacted] by academic years and her first award letter covered only that year.  We agreed to meet the next day on August 7 prior to a scheduled 4:30pm appointment with [redacted].  I discussed I had the [redacted] department create a [redacted] worksheet which clearly would layout the second and third academic years and any funds she would be responsible for.  She met with [redacted], FA advisor and was satisfied with the explanation.  She processed any documents and left with a copy of the [redacted] worksheet.
[redacted], while not completely happy, accepted the explanation and paperwork.  I apologized for any misunderstanding at the time of enrollment.  The University considers this complaint amicable resolved.

Review: I started school here in July of 2013. I enrolled in the RN program in November of 2013. I told them at that time, "How much money do I need to pay for the entire program, aside from [redacted]?" I was given an exact answer of $5303.03. I wrote a check out, for that exact amount that day. It was cashed by the school. Two weeks I received a phone call from [redacted] asking how I would pay for the next "year". "Will you be paying cash like you did last time?" I was extremely upset and I explained to this woman, over the phone, "I was told I had completed the payment for the whole program. That is why I gave you $5300." She told me, again, over the phone, "That just covers the first year." I was blindsided by this and VERY upset as I feel I have wasted many thousands of dollars and 9 months of my life in the program. They were aware of my situation, and I made it clear to them when I started that I would have to leave my job as this program is only day time with no night classes, etc. I made an appointment to speak with this woman about the problem, and yesterday I went online and found I had a hold on my school account and cannot continue until this is paid. (I do not even have an exact amount yet!) I called immediately and was told this hold is in regards to the original payment I made 10 months ago. They stated that NOW suddenly I still owe $300 from that check because "It was written incorrectly and the bank only paid them the $5000.00 and not the $300. I have stopped my whole life to attend this school and get my RN finally after 34 years. They have nickeled and dimed me to death for the last 10 months while providing a sub par educational experience. Classes are canceled at the last minute, clinical sights that do not exist (We were notified the NIGHT before a clinical that it was going to be at another location) And the basic education is of little value. The original price I was quoted was $49,000.00, but I am guessing with all the cash they think we have that it has gone up. We cannot even get a class schedule until the Friday before the new 5 week term! This is not a quality place. It is a fraudulent business preying on low income students who can qualify for government loans, when they have those they start asking students they know don't have cash for large amounts of money! It is a scam.Desired Settlement: I want to see this place actually give a quality education, and be completely up front with all people about what services we are getting and EXACTLY how much it will cost, out-of-pocket. There is no excuse for them coming after someone about a default amount 10 MONTHS after the check was written. I am sorry, there should be some statute of limitations, and a full disclosure of just what is going to go on here!
