Medical Centre Optical Reviews (5)

I attended at Medical Centre Optical on December 17, 2015, as did many others who purchased their advertised promotional [redacted] vouchers The store was filled with angry customers at the time of my visit While I cannot offer any concrete proof, it is my very strong belief that the Company has increased their prices exponentially in anticipation of participating in a [redacted] promotion, wherein they offered a $credit towards the purchase of frames and lenses, at a cost of $ The Company's website provides little information about pricing of their products, except an offering of a "for Family Pack" The following is copied directly from their website: We offer a for Family pack for just $ pairs of glasses (frames and lenses)! Mix and match with contact lensesShare with family and friends Link: http://www.medicalcentreoptical.com/services.html With this in mind, I think it would be quite reasonable to expect to be able to purchase a single pair of glasses within that price structure, or at least close to it HOWEVER, this is certainly NOT the case Single vision lenses are now priced at $and higher, and frames START at $ If lenses and frames each start at $199, how is it possible to purchase FOUR complete pairs of glasses at a cost of $249? I suspect this 'deal' is also riddled with added costs I did, begrudgingly, make use of one of the three vouchers that I purchased, as I was in a bind to replace my severely damaged glasses in a hurry I ended up having to pay an additional $at the time of purchase ~ for glasses with single vision lenses that I know I could have purchased elsewhere for less than the $promotional value of the voucher I feel as though this company has been terribly misleading in their advertising, and I will not make another purchase at this establishment At this point, I am willing to accept that the price gouging issue is the sole responsibility of Medical Centre Optical, and that [redacted] has been unaware of the Company's misleading offer up until the time of my requesting a refund for the remaining unused vouchers that I purchased from them With close to purchases of this voucher as of the time of this writing, I am certainly confident that my refund request for the unused vouchers is not the only one that [redacted] will receive with respect to this offer As mentioned previously, there were a multitude of other [redacted] customers in the store at the time of my visit, with their Vouchers in hand, and none were pleased with their discoveries there The outrage was palpable I'm terribly disappointed in both Medical Centre Optical, for their misleading advertising, and also in myself, for completing a purchase that was made in haste, and in error I sincerely regret making this purchase

I purchased the $towards $worth of eyewear/glasses from *** similar to that of a previous reviewer The selection of frames available for a reasonably low price was very poorI chose to pay only an additional $towards the glasses and did not take any optionsieanti-glare, scratch resistant etc, as I would have easily been up to approximately $dollarsIf the initial voucher was worth $250, and I paid an additional $48, that is a total of $ The quality of the frames that I received was far less than what you can purchase at local dollar stores There is definitely something wrong with this deal I feel this store is using this promotion to get rid of old stock, and to lure unsuspecting customers into spending a lot more than they should
However, on a positive side, I did find staff helpful and very pleasant

After buying a *** voucher, I visited this store on Sept15/to purchase prescription sunglassesI was told by a gentleman claiming to be the owner my cost for the chosen sunglasses would be $AFTER taking into consideration the value of the $*** couponThese were a no name brand and as he put it to me, designer glasses specifically made for my store*** *** *** It cost me approximately $225.00, which I paid *** after taking the *** voucher offNow months later, the arm has come off I traveled back last week June 29/to have these repaired only to be told by the clerk and woman***

I purchased the $19 towards $250 worth of eyewear/glasses from [redacted] similar to that of a previous reviewer. The selection of frames available for a reasonably low price was very poor. I chose to pay only an additional $48 towards the glasses and did not take any options. ie. anti-glare, scratch resistant etc, as I would have easily been up to approximately $200 dollars. If the initial voucher was worth $250, and I paid an additional $48, that is a total of $298. The quality of the frames that I received was far less than what you can purchase at local dollar stores. There is definitely something wrong with this deal. I feel this store is using this promotion to get rid of old stock, and to lure unsuspecting customers into spending a lot more than they should.

I attended at Medical Centre Optical on December 17, 2015, as did many others who purchased their advertised promotional [redacted] vouchers. The store was filled with angry customers at the time of my visit. While I cannot offer any concrete proof, it is my very strong belief that the Company has increased their prices exponentially in anticipation of participating in a [redacted] promotion, wherein they offered a $250 credit towards the purchase of frames and lenses, at a cost of $19. With this in mind, I think it would be quite reasonable to expect to be able to purchase a single pair of glasses within that price structure, or at least close to it. HOWEVER, this is certainly NOT the case. Single vision lenses are now priced at $199 and higher, and frames START at $199. If lenses and frames each start at $199, how is it possible to purchase FOUR complete pairs of glasses at a cost of $249? I suspect this 'deal' is also riddled with added costs. I did, begrudgingly, make use of one of the three vouchers that I purchased, as I was in a bind to replace my severely damaged glasses in a hurry. I ended up having to pay an additional $248.00 at the time of purchase ~ for glasses with single vision lenses that I know I could have purchased elsewhere for less than the $250 promotional value of the voucher. I feel as though this company has been terribly misleading in their advertising, and I will not make another purchase at this establishment. At this point, I am willing to accept that the price gouging issue is the sole responsibility of Medical Centre Optical, and that [redacted] has been unaware of the Company's misleading offer up until the time of my requesting a refund for the remaining unused vouchers that I purchased from them. With close to 1200 purchases of this voucher as of the time of this writing, I am certainly confident that my refund request for the unused vouchers is not the only one that [redacted] will receive with respect to this offer. As mentioned previously, there were a multitude of other [redacted] customers in the store at the time of my visit, with their Vouchers in hand, and none were pleased with their discoveries there. The outrage was palpable. I'm terribly disappointed in both Medical Centre Optical, for their misleading advertising, and also in myself, for completing a purchase that was made in haste, and in error. I sincerely regret making this purchase.
