Medical Delinquency Management Reviews (%countItem)

I went to Metro Dermatology in Hiram Ga. for services. This company billed my insurance and then the balance was left for me to pay. I had made attempts to pay for services which the medical office told me that my HSA card was denied. I called the HSA and they said it was not on their end that there was a problem. I had 147.00 left to pay for the services and was trying to reconcile the problem when I received a bill for 254.00 from MDM. I called MDM and told them I would pay the 147.00 which I owed but fees of 107.01 on a balance of 147.00 was not reasonable and customary. I did pay them the 147.00 which completed my debt for services. I wanted to make a complaint due to this companies excessive fees that I do not believe are allowed to be charged.

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment I desire this company not to be allowed to put this as a bad debt on my credit history as the associate with MDM stated they would do.

We were hired to try and collect this money for Metro Derm in Hiram, Ga. As we provided the patient the itemized statement and financial policy signed by the patient which stated the collection policy at Metero Derm. They (Metro Derm) add on the fees NOT Medical Delinquency Management. I did explain this to the patient that they needed to contact Metro Derm reference to the collections as they added them on. I can have Metro Derm send you(Revdex.com) the signed financial policy and Itemized statement if you would like. AS WE TOLD THE PATIENT this HAS NOT AND *** NOT be reported to the Credit Bureau But it would stay as a outstanding balance in Merto Derm's system until paid or resolved but they have to call Metro Derm to resolve the remaining balance as this is the amount Metro Derm shows as owed in their system.

I was told by MDM that this would be reported on my credit. I was told this on my first contact with MDM when I called to pay the balance and inform them that I would not pay 107.01 in fees on a 147.00 dollar medical balance. This is unacceptable. I am glad to hear in this response today that these fees *** not be reported as a bad debt on my credit. I do not know how Metro Derm can get away with charging these kind of fees. The information that I signed was given to me at the point of service and not informed when making the appointment only when I arrived for appointment for a possible cancerous lesion that needed to be removed. I believe MDM does know and benefits from these added fees and accepts the fees as payment for their services.. Therefore, they are just as responsible for the exorbitant fees as Metro Derm is. I *** not seek services with Metro Derm in the future. Respectfully

In response to Mr. complaint:

We do not add the fees nor do we benefit from these fees. All the money we collect goes to the doctor not in our pocket which is why we ask the patient to make checks out to Metro Derm.

As for not being informed of the collection fees when making the appointment I do not work in Metro Derms office but I know of NO doctor that *** inform you of everything on their financial policy when calling to make an appointment. It it the patients job to read it before signing once they get to the doctor office.

I am not sure of how the patient wants this resolved? It is not on their credit, they are more than welcome to check. We are no longer handling this account..Once the patient has disputed and we send them all information in writing that they signed we turn it back over to the doctor.

If they want the fees waived as we have said from the first contact they MUST contact the doctor as they add the fees on. We only work for the doctor and have NO part in adding on or adjusting any fees. That must be done thru the doctors office.
Thank you!
