Review: This is to report and to file a complaint regarding the shoddy business practices I have experienced with the Medical House Supply Group (MHSG), [redacted], Virginia [redacted] (###-###-####). In November and/or December 2012, I purchased two pair of compression stockings from this medical supply company. The price listed by MHSG on the stockings was $45.00 per pair, more than twice what the same items were listed for on the internet at that time. The only reason I purchased the product from MHSG is because the owner, [redacted], after checking with my medical insurance company, assured me that my cost would be $4.50 per pair, which I paid [redacted] at the time of purchase. Almost nine months later and out of the blue, in late August 2013 I received an invoice (bill) from MHSG for $22.50, alleging that I owed it $11.25 for each pair of stockings, which was the amount the insurance did not cover. The invoice was marked that the requested payment was in arrears for 120 days +, even though I had never received any kind of previous bill from MHSG. More importantly, the bill failed to account for the $9.00 I had already paid MHSG for the stockings. On August 30, 2013, I called [redacted] to discuss this bill. Twice she put me on hold for close to ten minutes (the second time after specifically telling me that she was trying to find a copy of my bill) without ever reconnecting to me and without even having the courtesy of checking back with me to get a return phone number, so that I wouldnt need to continue to hold indefinitely. Upon calling [redacted] a third time, I was dismissively informed that, after putting me on hold, she was busy (apparently [redacted] believes that she is the only one who is busy, or perhaps the only one that matters). After my complaint about the treatment I had suffered, and upon my suggestion, [redacted] reluctantly took a return phone number from me. Shortly thereafter, [redacted] called me back. [redacted] attempted to justify the bill on the grounds that the initial transaction was understood to place upon me the obligation to pay whatever the insurance did not pay. But I, like anyone with common sense, would never have agreed to purchase the stockings without knowing what they would cost me (having been told $4.50 per pair only after [redacted] verified that amount with my insurance company). I paid $4.50 per pair when I purchased the stockings only because [redacted] told me at that time that that amount is what I owed. Additionally, while acknowledging that the invoice I received did not credit me for the $9.00 I had already paid MHSG, [redacted] unapologetically, and quite defensively, stated that the reason for this was that MHSG has two incompatible billing systems; in other words, the risk of overpayment rests with me. [redacted] told me her business was transacted this way all the time. Over protest, I agreed to pay the $13.50 now claimed by MHSG, and assured [redacted] that if I did so, I would report their shoddy business practices to the Revdex.com. I would never again conduct business with this type of outfit, and would warn anyone else inclined to do so of just what they might be getting into.Desired Settlement: I want a letter of appology and a refund of the money I was improperly billed.
