MEDSTAY failed to cancel a reservation for 2 rooms Feb 24 after assuring my daughter this would be taken care of.Anticipating a surgical procedure needed by my daughter I reserved 2 rooms through MEDSTAY at [redacted] The procedure was not done and there was no reason to spend the night, plus inclement weather would make travel home more difficult. My daughter called to cancel the reservation around 1:00 pm and was told by MEDSTAY agent the reservation for Feb 24 would be cancelled. She called back an hour later to reconfirm cancellation and was told the reservation for that evening was cancelled. MEDSTAY did not cancel the reservation and my account was billed for 2 rooms, $73.78 per room, at the [redacted]I spoke with an MEDSTAY agent on March 4 about billing issue. He recalled the cancellation request made by my daughter on Feb 24 and checked into the problem but could not offer a satisfactory solution. Desired SettlementI want a refund for total amount billed for 2 rooms the evening of Feb 24, 2015. The amount charged for both rooms was $147.56 ($73.78 per room)Send refund to:[redacted]

We had to bring our daughter to a facility in Durham NC for several months last year. We contacted [redacted] at Medstay to make reservations for us for a Friday and Saturday night at the [redacted], Durham, NC. We paid with a credit card. He was helpful and we had no problems. When we received the monthly statement from [redacted], it showed a third night charge on the bill. If I recall the nightly rate was 59.02 plus tax - very close to that. I first contacted [redacted] to have this issue taken care of. He said that has happened before and he'd contact the hotel about a refund on my credit card. After several weeks and attempts nothing was happening. When I called a few more times he informed me that he would just send a check and took my address, as he also mentioned he was "tired of dealing with this issue" - as was I. He asked me to send copy of latest credit card statement to show I had not received a credit from the hotel. This was several months now after this started. When I didn't receive anything after about a month, I phoned again and he informed me that his bank said the check was cashed. At this point I kind of figured he really wasn't going to send anything. I've since sent him a letter requesting a copy of the bank's information. When I phoned again this past week, he said that he was busy and had other customers to handle and he was apparently waiting for a response from his bank. I am tired of waiting, I've never had a Company not try to help a customer they way [redacted] and Medstay have done. I'm sure they are busy, we are all busy, however this started in September of 2014 - 10 months ago. I have asked for only what is owed to me, nothing more, nothing less.Product_Or_Service: Hotel RoomsDesired SettlementEither credit my [redacted] the amount or simply send a refund check. I don't mind, it just needs solved so we can BOTH move on.Business Response 9000 charter is not enough to tell the complete story. With MedStay we do not bill the customer the hotels does. For [redacted] I call the hotel and he heard the manager tell me that she would reserve the charges for the 2nd night. He called back saying that they did not reverse it. I called them again and I was told it was taken care of. this was a new manager of the hotel and in the past I had no reason to think that it was not taken care of because I have been using this hotel for 10 years with on problems about reseversing charges so again I go on my way. He calls back again so I told him that I would have my bank send him a check. He called back saying he never got the check> I looked it up and saw that the check was cashed so I told him that it was cashed and and I would look futher. Mr [redacted] need to understand that we have had customers who call us about a charge get us to send them a check and still have the hotel reverse the charges. I am a very small company I have three employees $59.02 is a lot of money to me right now as I expand I am very careful of every penny and I just don't send out these check anymore without checking them out. could I have focus more on this situation YES but until I got the information that I received on Friday from the bank I was not send Out anymore money. Friday the bank told that the check was locally at the branch. The bank will put the money back into my account So a new check will go out to him this week. Normally I would not even pay attention to him after reporting. I don't respond to threats of action or people demanding things. He need to understand I did not charge him the hotel did so he should get his $59 from them. Consumer Response I do appreciate the response from [redacted], I also understand that the hotel was the one who charged the third night in the first place. Unfortunately during this time, the hotel not only changed managers, but changed names as well and their computer systems. This issue is between [redacted] and the hotel, they need to work it out between them and take care of the "customer". The hotel should have stepped up in the beginning and handled this problem, they did not, so now [redacted] is having to deal with this and I completely understand his frustration, I did not cause this issue I'm only asking for the resolution. I will continue to wait for a refund. I know both of us want to move on. Thank you.
