Review: I wish to file a complaint on behalf of my 90 year old mother, Mrs. [redacted] S. [redacted], a customer of Medical Monitoring USA from 2009-2014.
On Oct 10, 2014 Mrs. [redacted] paid $80.85 in advance for three months service from Nov 1, 2014 to Jan 31, 2015. Just after the payment was sent she suffered a fall that necessitated her move to assisted living. MM USA was immediately notified of the discontinuation of service. They gave me instructions for returning equipment; it was received by them on Oct. 31, 2014. No further instructions or correspondence were given to me; I assumed that a refund would soon follow in the mail.
The contract with MM USA states that Medical Monitoring will, within 30 days of cancellation and return of equipment, refund any advance payment for services not yet rendered. Mrs [redacted] equipment was returned to MM USA before the prepaid service period began.
I was told, twice, by the manager [redacted] that she would send the refund, but she has not. Phone messages that I left for [redacted], the VP, were unanswered and I received no response to a certified letter that I sent to Mr. [redacted].
Mrs [redacted] is entitled to a refund for the three months of service that she paid for, but were unused. MM USA has a contractual obligation to to refund money that they received and did not provide service. I have copies of all transactions (contract, invoices, cancelled checks, UPS return of equipment receipt) as well as documentation of all telephone calls to support our claim.Desired Settlement: Mrs [redacted] should received a refund check for $80.85 for the three months of unused service that she prepaid.
