extremely poor customer service
We first noticed Medigold from a poster in our Doctor's office it was affliated with Mt. Carmel Hospital as is our doctor so there was immediate trust as we have had good experiences with Mt. Carmel and we love our doctor I have been unhappy with my current provider so we decided to take a look. We went online and many programs were there. While we were looking a pop-up came up and said it would provide programs for our area and to insert our zip code. We did and one program popped up and it promised cash back no premium. Wow we were sold! So I filled out the application and received a email confirmation. In a couple of days we received a letter confirming our choice much to our dismay it said no Rx benefits were included. we should have examined it more closely but we were trusting Medigold.We all make mistakes. However Medigold provided us an out the letter said if you wish to cancel call this number. That Friday Oct.20 my husband called thinking he could cancel (I was outside raking leaves) the woman who answered was intractable unhelpful and unkind she kept insisting he needed a PofA for finances In our 58 years of marriage we have never had this and probably 99% of married people do not however if you are blocking someone's wiishes it is a handy tool so getting nowhere he hung up. The following Mon.23rd I called and reached a person who said his name was "Larry" he seemed unconcerned and unhelpful I explained our problem he asked my name and I gave it and he said I'll send over your request to cance" I asked if he needed more information and he said no. A couple of days later we received not a cancellation letter but a brochure advertising Medigold.We werecrushed so on the 27th we called back a woman answered I explained our proble and offered the confirmation number as help she said it was incorrect that zeroes should precede the number ANYONE looking at number could see NO zeroes(but a good tool for blocking) I then mentioned that we had talked earlier with Larry and maybe he could help almost instantly Larry came on line he seemed to remember and said he sent it over on the23rd I told we had heard nothing and was there a number we could call to get it canceled he said there was no number. So we gave up talking to the unhelpful blockers. So now we sit without it being canceled uncertain as what to do. What should have bee a simple transaction has turned into an anxiety ridden situation. Why would Medigold allow its employees to treat vulnerable elderly people this way? We hope whoever reads this has the intelligence and compassion to rectify this situation. Respectfully Jill A. Leonard

No internet access to premium statements or changing billing options
Why is there no access on your member portal for members to get access to their monthly premiums that they are paying? Also, there is no easy access to change your mode of monthly payment. I have been with other companies where it is available online. You just pick how you want to pay and follow the prompts. I find your member portal to be lacking information that many members would like available. I called to get this info and they have to snail mail it to me. Really? They couldn’t fax it or email it. This is the year 2022 time to get updated. Nobody uses snail mail. Most of us are computer savvy.

MediGold does not live up to their promises to pay. My Husband was on Medigold and was hospitalized approximately 20 days. He spent 2 weeks in one hospital after a stroke and heart attack back to back. He needed to be moved to a rehabilitation facility, the hospital I preferred which was close to home and he best in the city, however was not on the approved list. After phone calls from myself and the hospital Social Worker MediGold approved a 10 day stay as an inpatient at the rehabilitation hospital we preferred. Both I and the Social Worker were assured that this would be a continuous hospital stay and we would not be charged for the first 6 days again. We informed MediGold if that was the case we would just continue his rehabilitation at the current hospital. Well I received a bill in early January of 2019 from the rehabilitation hospital saying my claim was denied and we were being charged for the first 6 days again. I called MediGold at that time and they called back several days later and said it had been approved and for payment. Well here we are in the middle of May 2019 and MediGold is not paying for it and acting like it is the first time they have heard from us. Do they keep no notes of conversations with their clients? It is all bizarre, they are even asking for a power of attorney to speak to me after they have spoken to me and have my husband permission on file! Like this is the first time they have heard from me!! I am so happy we decided to leave this provider.

ran an ad stating Medicare made easy MediGold Medicare Advantage which stated Winning Benefits:
$0 premium plan option
acupuncture
over the counter monthly expenses
Generic Viagra
$0 family doctor visits
$0 drug deductible plan options
$0 fitness benefit with Silver Sneakers
$0 copay for generic and preferred generic drugs at mail order
There was a checkmark beside each of the above. Would you not think that all of these things were included in their plan? When you call to make sure you are told that they indeed offer the above but for all different plans. To me this looks like the classic BAIT AND SWITCH scam. I wish I had a date for the *** ad. It was about two weeks ago but don't have an exact date as I just cut out the ad.

In your review, you mentioned many benefits printed in the ad and a specific concern about how those benefits are listed together. At MediGold, we make every effort to present our Medicare Advantage plans and benefits in a way to help make Medicare easy to understand and use. MediGold does have different plan options available, each with a select package of benefits. Our goal and hope is that there is at least one plan option to best fit a customer's unique needs. In this ad, we accurately noted "plan option" with benefits as well as a specific note in the footer "plans and premiums vary by county." The information you received when you called is also accurate – we do offer all of these benefits and we do offer different plans. We apologize for any inconvenience this ad may have caused you. As always, our goal is to deliver the best message and product possible. Once again, thank you for sharing your concern with us.
