This is the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. Their communication is horrible, their customer service is horrible. If you call them for anything you have to explain yourself repeatedly and then they just want to pass you on to another number, they are lazy. With so many medications being backordered right now, instead of trying to help you find the medication you need they just want to get you on a different medication whether it does the same things or not.
I have been on a specific medication for years. Somewhere around 2015 BCBS partnered with MedImpact. Around 2016, MedImpact began requiring a PO on this medication. Up until last year, this was a fairly straightforward process. But over the last year it has become an ordeal to obtain prior authorization. On my last PO, it took 2 weeks to obtain an urgent PO request. With the present PO request, I am at 11 days. MedImpact keeps telling me they are awaiting requested information from my physician. However I know the requested FAX has been sent three times. Today I spoke to a customer service representative and confirmed the FAX number to which the information should be sent and it was the same FAX my doctors office has sent the information to the yesterday. Even though I can verify the information was sent, I am still hearing it hasn't been received.I do not know if it is a breakdown within MedImpact or an intentional disregard of the information they requested. This medication has been an essential part of my medications for years. I have several other medical problems which this stonewalling only irritates. MedImpact has become a nightmare.
