e received your letter dated Wednesday, September 9, 2015 regarding [redacted] C[redacted]; ID [redacted]. Thank you for understanding that there are two sides to every story and for allowing us to recount the details of his complaint from our point of view. We take great pride in our business and consider ourselves to be fair with our customers. I have interviewed the customer service representative on Mr. C[redacted] complaint and she does remember the situation clearly. Our policy on using our dump station is that you must be a registered camper. Our representative told Mr. C[redacted] that this is our policy and our local health department only allows us to  accept sewage from registered campers because of our limited storage space. This is an agreement  between us and our local health department, not NYS health code. We do apologize that Mr. C[redacted] felt  we were quoting NYS health code. This is our own limitation with our local health department. If we did  start to accept sewage for payment from outside travelers, we would be most certainly be reprimanded by  our inspectors. We do not wish for this to happen, therefore we deny any outside travelers to dump at our KOA. Mr. C[redacted] was treated no differently than anyone else with the same situation, nor was he treated rudely.  As for our KOA listing, we have the dump station symbol for registered guests only, not the $ sign to  indicate that outside travelers may dump for a fee. So we do not advertise this service. Mr. C[redacted] was not denied a propane fill. He only changed his mind on that after he was not able to dump.I do sincerely apologize that Mr. C[redacted] had to travel several minutes out of his way. Wasting his time was certainly not our intent. This issue is one of the shortfalls of our park being an older facility. A short phone call beforehand might have saved him the travel trouble however. Once again we appreciate your time and attention to defend our position. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact us at 585-735-3310.Sincerely, Robert C. [redacted] President

Thank you for your prompt response. We do not expect Medina KOA to do anything hospitable like an apology. We do want the corporate office made aware this is an example of how they treat travelers. They have dumping locations on-site and propane tank as you drive in. They should not be allowed to...

quote N.Y. law as an excuse to send travelers an extra 1 1/2 hours out of their way to do these tasks. We are KOA members, but will not return to this one. It is doubtful we will renew. We expect to pay for these services, but feel travelers and the corporate office should be aware this KOA is not member friendly. Thank you. Tom C[redacted]
