Revdex.com,
Mr*** was exactly what he was supposed to be, WHEN THEY WERE TRYING TO SELL ME the car. As you can see in his message (attached) from 9-17-2014, he clearly stated that he "never gives up without a fight" and that "too many people were involved". The reason for this message was that I tried to buy the car via *** *** Lease, a company that Joseph knows and we do business with. *** was to buy the car from Joseph on my behalf and then I would lease it from them so that I could return it anytime for antoher car (and pay the difference of course) if my father couldn't drive any more, etc. After his sales reps turned down the deal, I went to *** and they found the exact same vehicle at another dealer. We were going to pick it up on the 20th. Then, *** called and asked me to PLEASE allow him to personally cut the deal with me so that they could earn my business and begin a long term relationship. He apologized for his team's confusion and lack of willingness to work with *** and acknowledged that they have done so in the past and would do it again. I called *** and told them I would just go direct with Joseph on this one and *** was fine with this path. After believing that Joseph would work with me on this deal and to build future relationships, they knew that my father was very ill and the purpose of the purchase was soley for him. He had less than miles on the truck, many which were already on it from the dealer, at the time it was parked. They were not able to get me the tags for the car because they needed an Ohio driver's license or birth certificate from me. I explained that I would get them something soon, but I was tied up at the time as my father was in the hospital. This wasn't a big issue, I told them, as the temporary tags are good until 11-18-and it was only the middle of October. In any case, they simply mailed a check for $and a letter telling me to get my own tags. No problem, but just another "the car is yours now" attitude and zero service. Now, to the main issue, Contrary to Mr*** response, I did not ASK for them to buy the car back at any full price or say there was a guaranteed refund, buy-back, etc. In fact, it was just the opposite. They "sold" me on the fact that they were going to earn my business and apololgized for all the confusion and problems they had trying to sell me the car. I called my sales rep, *** *** after my father passed and made it clear that I knew they couldn't simply give me my money back, so could he please call me with a discounted buy back on this as a "used car" or offer me a TRAagainst a car that I would drive, like a new ***, Pickup truck etc. I told him that I knew it would be bad, but I would not ever need the SRX so it would be better to trade it in at a loss than to let it sit parked. This was a VERY clear conversation and I even stated "if I drove in off the street to trade something in against a new car, it would have a value of something, so just tell me what the trade in value would be". He said OK, and never called back. I left a message later that day, and nobody called back. The following day, I called him again. Unlike when they were trying to"hook" me on the sale, nobody tried calling me back for days. When I finally got him on the phone, he said the value is "ZERO". I asked what that meant, and he said they wouldn't give me a penny for the SRX. He was CLEAR that they wouldn't give me anything for trade or any type of buy back and they "were not interested in taking the truck back on trade or any other manner". I asked how a "dealer" could not have any value at all to apply to a trade, and he said that was their final decision. I made a few harsh comments, and said that I would handle trading the car or selling it myself and that other potential buyers should know how they handled this, as apparently a "new" truck goes from $50k to Zero value with Joseph. That was the end of the conversation. I took the car to a competitor and they offered me $34k in trade. IRONICALLY (as I believe my new dealer may have called them for a value) while I was still at the competitor, *** *** Called up and said they would give me $32k in trade or buy back. I said "thanks" as they at least gave me a number. The problem was it was days later and AFTER they said it was worth zero. So, to counter Mr*** statement that "I sold it immedately", I guess I would have to ask him, "why would I wait"? They already made their position clearIt was worth zeroSo, in conclusion, I would say that I letter from Mr*** saying that they apologize for telling me they wanted to earn my business and admitting that they told me a $40k plus vehicle was worth "ZERO" two weeks after they sold it with under miles would satisfy my complaint

To Whom It May Concern:

Please allow me to offer my condolences for the loss of the complainant's father. He was a class individual and enjoyable man to work with.

I was personally involved in the sale of this vehicle. We worked in a transparent and ethical manner from the very...

beginning of our dealings with the complainant. We were under no obligation, nor did we ever represent the fact that the vehicle would be repurchased by us at any time for any dollar amount for any reason. At no time did we misrepresent any facts regarding the vehicle itself regarding quality or potential resale after any amount of time. The complainant's time frame simply did not fit ours based on our inventory mix and levels, and it did not make business sense to add his vehicle to our inventory. We eventually made the offer to purchase his vehicle as a goodwill gesture based on his personal circumstance but he had traded in the vehicle elsewhere almost immediately after contacting us.

I plan no additional action regarding this complaint.

Sincerely,
