I didn't understand the bill for my dry cleaning order. The clerk was unwilling or unable to explain the charges.I went in to pick up my order on a Thursday because they have a 30% discount on sweaters. I was asked to sign a credit card approval for $50.25. A separate receipt broke this down into an incomprehensible $5.19 (invoice # XX-XXXXXX), 6.XX (XX-XXXXXX), 6.XX (XX-XXXXXX), 16.XX(XX-XXXXXX), and 14.XX (XX-XXXXXX)for my 7 sweaters. Naturally, after looking at this list, I asked how much the regular price was to dry clean a sweater and was told that the regular price was $7.00 each. I said that if so, I didn't think the discount had been applied and the clerk said it had been. I said then the bill should have been around $33 to $35. She responded that she didn't know how the manager figured prices out and that the difference must be the tax. $15-$17 tax on a $30 some dollar order? I suggested to her that that $7.00 must be the reduced price and she insisted that it was the full price...and we went through the whole thing a second time. At no point in time did she look at either of the receipts I had in my hand or use any customer service skills, such as saying "Oh, let me take a look at that?" "I'm sorry - it doesn't seem to make logical sense, does it?" Seeing that the clerk lacked both common sense and customer service skills, I asked if there was someone else in the store who wasn't mathematically challenged. Yes, I wasn't tactful, but the thoughts going through my mind were SUBSTANTIALLY less complimentary. I was told that I was rude and that other customers needed to be waited upon - which the other clerk appeared to be doing. My dissatisfaction was complete. Reading previous reviews, it doesn't look as if it will do any good to call the manager. According the reviews by other people, the manager is never in and never responds to phone calls.Desired SettlementExplanation of the incomprehensible charges. The consumer sent an email case resolved

We decided to try Medlin Davis because our current dry cleaner still gave my husband starched shirts with a few wrinkles. We thought being in cameron village the service here would be better. I was HORRIFIED!!!! My husband's shirt that was worn ONLY TWO times that is a CUSTOM shirt came back not only wrinkled on the sleeves but with three drip stains just under the shoulder and a black spot on the collar. I really hope this review let's me post pictures. I wouldn't take my clothes here if my life depended on it and YOU KNOW they aren't going to do anything but wan to give me something stupid like a credit. Not happy!","neg-1

I took a blazer to be dry cleaned and when I picked it up, it had been shrunk as to not properly fit anymore. My blazer was dropped off to be cleaned and is in new condition. It was worn a few days before being dropped off and fit correctly. After I picked it up, I tried it on and it no longer fits. I took it back to the cleaner and they attempted to stretch it but were unable to stretch it back to the original condition and make it fit properly. I was told it is because the blazer is polyester, which it is not. It is a 100% wool [redacted] blazer that cost me $400. I then called the main office and spoke to the owner who told me they would only compensate me for 70% of the blazer since it is used. They offered $280, which is not going to replace the blazer that now no longer fits. I asked to be compensated the full replacement value so I may buy a new blazer and they refused. I feel this is unfair as they ruined the blazer and made it unwearable and should replace it in full. I am not able to buy a "used" blazer at a discounted price so feel I should be fully compensated for the full replacement value of the blazer.Desired SettlementI would like to be fully compensated for either the cost of the blazer ($398 plus tax) or would like a replacement blazer of the same brand, type and size ([redacted]-Classic Single Breasted Blazer-size 0). Business Response I agreed to pay the claim based on the Fair Claims Guide. Using its age as one year and giving it an excellent condition rating, the reimbursement rate is 70% or $280.00. I also indicated that I would need the sportcoat and the customer refused. Consumer Response If those guidelines are being used, then they should have been properly used. The "replacement cost" is $442.82. The blazer is wool and less than a year old and barely worn so in excellent condition. This would give a 75% value which would be $332.12. I will bring the blazer in to be looked at, but will have to sell it to be able to make up for the full cost of buying a new blazer so would like it returned once it is inspected.Final Business Response During our original conversation, the customer said the coat was a year old and the replacement cost was $400.00. I will not address the change in the age or the cost of the coat. To placate the customer's desire to keep the jacket I will approve a claim of $200.00 and the customer can keep the coat.

They've lost clothing twice and damaged clothing. I received no receipt for monies paid, no receipt with list of clothing dropped off or picked up.I dropped off a few items to have dry cleaned at Medlindavis. Received an email from Medlindavis stating my dry cleaning order was ready. Went to pick up order and drop off a few more items. I was told my the clerk that a white linen blouse was not available because it was stained and it would be ready that Friday (5 days later). I replied that I don't stain my clothes. If I were to have a stain I would bring it to the attention of the clerk - I want to know if they can get it out - if not I give the piece to charity and don't waste money cleaning it. I asked why I received an email stating my order was ready. I was told that's how they do things. I came back on Friday my blouse was still missing but the new order was ready. I asked the clerk (different clerk) about my missing blouse, I was told, "it's probably missing have you called the manager?" I said no and left the store. From home I called for the manager and was told that she didn't work in the store I had visited and was given her phone number. I spoke to her about being lied to by the first clerk. She offered the info that they hired young people as the reason. She told me she would look into it and get back to me and would pay for the item if it could not be found. She called to tell me the item was lost and that I would receive a check. In the check was a preprinted "sorry" card with $10.00 off next dry cleaning service with them. I was perturbed. All my clothing is 100% all natural fibers and expensive. I've been dry cleaning my clothes for 40 years and have never had an item lost. I received an email from the owner so I decided to give them another try. I dropped off 13 items and was told at the time of drop off that my items would be ready the following Friday (one week later) On Tuesday I received an email from the manager stating that 5 orders (manager says they bundle the items in 3's - another reason items get lost in my opinion) were ready for pick-up . The order includes 12 pieces. I immediately call the store because 1 item is missing again. I was told that it was a white linen top that had a stain. I told him that's the same crap I heard the last time. I called the manager and she wasn't in. I asked for the owner and was told he was out. I called back to the store where I dropped my clothes off asked a few more questions about my order and told the clerk I would be there in the morning with the police. The owner called me 10 minutes later saying this was the 1st he'd heard and would get back to me in the am. The manager called the next day and told me the piece was ready and also made a point to say that the order wasn't due until the day she called. I asked why SHE sent me an email saying it was ready the day before minus the missing item. I go in 2 days later pick up 13 pieces. The clerk asked me if I had 2 accounts I said no they keep losing my clothes. He said in their system I had 2 accounts. He says," other than missing pieces here and there they really are good. The problem is this is for drop off only (which I didn't know). They pick up clothes here take them to be dry cleaned elsewhere and return them. I paid $104.00 and some change for my order this is with the $10.00 off "sorry" coupon. I get home and there are 2 problems and I was furious at myself first for trusting them again. I'm still missing an item - the blouse they found was the blouse missing from the 1st order and I received a blouse back with a stain that didn't have a stain when I dropped it off. I never received a receipt with my order. I never received a list of what was dropped off nor returned to me. At this point I felt it pointless to talk to the manager or owner. I want $104.00 that I paid for this last order returned. Desired Settlement$104.00Business Response I am sorry for the trouble that you experienced and I will be glad to refund you the $104.00 that you requested.

Custom made lined pants were laundered, rather than dry cleaned. This resulted in the pants shrinking in length and waist. Two and a half months ago, I dropped off my pants to be dry cleaned. I picked them up the next day for a trip to Atlanta, and when I was preparing for a dinner engagement put the pants on and found that they had shrunk over one inch in length and also in the waist. Upon further review, the color had faded.I contacted the owner and he told me to bring them in to open a claim. When I returned from my trip on Monday, I took the pants in and explained to the person receiving my pants what had happened. She took my name down and said they would put it in for a claim, but gave me no paperwork. She showed me the sticker/label inside the pants and said they had my information and someone would contact me.Two weeks later, no one had contacted me, so I began again with my story with the next staff member (over the phone). She said she would have someone contact me. Again, no one contacted me.It has been more than two months and still no one has called me back, yet my pants are still in their possession. It's like dealing with baby ducks - every day is a new day.Inside the pants is the date in which the pants were made, the clothier ([redacted]), which is what I was originally asked. The pants obviously cannot be restored to their original size, so either pay for them or pay [redacted] directly and I will have them make another pair. It really is that easy, but instead Medlin Davis Cleaners elects to avoid settling the claim.I just want the claim settled, and I promise never to use them again. Rather than filing the claim with the magistrate's court, which will add the filing fee, I elected to use the Revdex.com to mediate and settle the claim.[redacted] is the tailor I dealt with at [redacted]. His contact number is [redacted]. The records for the pants are on file and will match the label placed in my pants. Desired SettlementAs noted above, either replace the pants through the clothier shop ([redacted]) or refund the amount paid for the pants, which can be verified through the tailor, [redacted] (919)[redacted]. Either is fine, but one or the other needs to done once and for all. Waiting over two months is being more than patient!
