Regards,
*** *** To Whom It May Concern,I have just gotten a chance to sit down and right my rejection of Medlin Plumbing's reply today. I know that this is the 7th day since receiving their response and that I needed to answer today or the claim status would be changed to "answered". I have already received an email stating the status has been changed but I am hoping my response will still be honored because I am getting back to you all today. I was not aware there was a certain time it had to be submitted by today. I work, and have just gotten home.Again, I am formally rejecting the business's response. Please see below for my rebuttal.First of all, I was not mistaken when I said that *** *** fixed our issue (when they came out the first time and snaked our pipe in the basement). They were able to clear a path in the pipe and the backup was able to drain back down into the drain. We realized that the problem had only been temporarily fixed when there was standing water and sewage again that backed up a few days later. Here is the way we look at it. Medlin Plumbing's way of "resolving" the problem would have been more costly to us, because we would have had to pay for removing the toilet and snaking the pipe upstairs (which did not even result in a temporary draining of the backup), and we would also have had to pay to have someone come back out and jet our pipes per what Medlin suggested. Even if the jetting of the pipes were to have temporarily cleared the pipe and drained the mess, the pipe would have likely backed up again because of the diagnosis of the second visit from ***. When *** came back for the second time, they stuck a camera down into the pipe to determine what was causing the backups. They were able to conclude that it was the connector (of the pipes) that was causing toilet paper to get stuck around that area.If we had gone Medlin's route, we would have probably had to pay for their pointless visit, someone to come out to jet the pipe, and another person to come out and stick a camera down their to find out why it kept backing up. Another scenario that could have happened is we never would have known what was causing the backup in the first place, and the pipes could have backed up again later down the road and we would have had to pay for a camera then.Either way, we still see Medlin's visit as pointless as they did not even TEMPORARILY fix the problem by draining the pipe, and their suggestion of jetting could have done nothing as well. It could have (and probably would have been) another expense that resulted in no solution. We want our $ refunded for removing the toilet unnecessarily. We are happy to pay for a job that helps in any way, but Medlin did nothing except waste our time, take our $, and suggest a step (the jetting) that didn't get to the root of the problem.***'s guy also told us (the first time that they came out) that Medlin's guy couldn't snake from upstairs because he hit a curve in the pipe, and gave up...a pointless visit! One last point to make...the owner of Medlin Plumbing spoke with me on the phone and told me that after reviewing the invoices from ***, she could confidently tell me that our pipes would continue to back up bc of the connector. I didn't think of it at the time, but we only knew about the connector issue bc of *** sticking a camera down there. Her company's suggestion would have just thrown in the extra step of jetting, which would not have helped us to determine the root of the problem...just another unnecessary step! Please help us to get our money back. These people are trying to justify and manipulate the situation, when I reality, they are just crooks.*** *** ***

Ms [redacted] requested her money back because she claims we misdiagnosed her plumbing issue, however in our opinion it is correct.  She stated that the problem was corrected by another plumber so we offer her to send us a copy of their invoice and we would look at it and if we made a mistake we...

would gladly reimburse her 85.00. however she sent the invoice it was slightly vague we contacted the plumber she said corrected the problem.  They stated that what they did was to cut a pipe in basement to open the line to gain access so that they could use it for access to run their sewer cable machine this pipe had raw sewage in it, allowing it to release and dump its contents in basement, in our opinion this is unsafe for our workers as well as homeowners.  Two days later this same company was back at the home,  they shared with us that what they had done did not remedy the problem,  they than ran a camera confirming that the stoppages will continue as there is a connection that needs to be repaired,  our attempt to clear the line would have been less costly and more efficient.  In our opinion we were correct in our diagnosis and the repair orders from another company will support our opinion as how this should have been corrected in the beginning.  We feel sometimes two different companies can each have an idea to achieve the same goal we are sorry that Ms [redacted] still has a ongoing plumbing issue. We have attached the invoices, as you will see Ms [redacted] was mistaken when she stated that they came out and were able to repair the lines.

Review: We have a sewage back up in our unfinished basement. The drain has standing water/ sewage over it that is rapidly expanding. Our warranty company is HMS and they sent out a guy from Medlin Plumbing to fix the issue. He said that he did not recommend snaking the drain down in the basement, and decided it would be more productive to remove our toilet (that is located upstairs) and snaking there. We had to pay $85 (that wasn't covered by our warranty) for him to remove the toilet. He claimed that he was unable to fix the problem by snaking (which is covered by our warranty) and said that we would have to have someone jet the pipe with water (which is not covered by our warranty). We then called a different plumber to help us and he came out the following day. He said that it made absolutely no sense to charge us to take the toilet off because that was not where the backup was occurring. He proceeded to snake our drain in the basement and was able to clear whatever was clogging our pipes. I tried calling Medlin Plumbing to see if they would refund the $85 to us because removing the toilet did not help and it was not where the water was backing up (which can was in the basement). Hey refused to refund us the $, because they stand by their plumbers decision, even though he was clearly wrong. We feel that their plumber took advantage of our lack of knowledge and charged us for something that made no sense to do. According to the plumber who helped us, we were taken advantage of. Even if the plumber from Medlin did not intentionally charge us for something that didn't fix the problem, we feel that his company should make the situation right by refunding our money.

Please help us in this situation. It is disconcerting to us that a service man can walk into our home and rip us off bc of our lack of knowledge. We just want our money back for something that wasn't fixed and was not even practical in helping to fix the situation.

I greatly appreciate your time.Desired Settlement: We would like Medlin Plumbing to credit us back the $85 that they charged us to remove the toilet.
