Medtronic Monitoring Reviews (%countItem)

Mid last year my doctor wanted me to get a new insulin pump, he had a rep contact me from medtronic. She said the pump was $12,000.00, I told her I could NEVER afford that. She called my insurance and found out it was covered and said my cost would be $1400.00. She said my insurance and benefits were verified. It shipped out well over a month later and billed after that. Shortly after receiving my pump my husband's insurance canceled us because the union did not have enough hours. Then I recived a letter that the pump wasnt covered because it was billed to late. I called Medtronic and tried to return it, they wouldnt lwt me. I tried reaching the rep on many occasions through now, she has still yet to return my call. I told them I dont have that kind of money since they want over $200.00 a month to pay it off. I dont make that kind of money and I expressed that from the start! I am willing to pay my $1400.00 but that was all I told the rep and cuatomer service I could oay. They have tricked me and mislead me. I cannot pay this ridiculous amount. The rep new this and now won't even call me back!

I agreed in September of 2016 to have a Linq (made by Medtronic) loop monitor place for arrhythmias on the recommendation of my cardiologist and was told by their office then that it is covered by my insurance carrier, United Healthcare. The monitor battery lasts 3 years, according the literature that came with it. I received montoring and no bills until October 2018. Then out of the blue, I received a bill for $299.00 dated 9/28/18 of which UHC paid only $11.00 for “ICM/LR Tech Serv “ with no dates of service. I called UHC and they told me that Medtronic “is now out of network”. I explained that I was never given advance notice of this, and have since sent the external portion of the monitor back to Medtronic. The UHC rep told me they would resubmit the bill for additional payment, but I have just received a second bill from Medtronic for the same amount. This is unfair practice because I was not notified by either Medtronic or UHC of the stoppage of coverage and would not have agreed to the continued monitoring under those conditions. I am also going to report UHC to the Insurance Commisiion for this shady practice.
