details of the offer I reviewed appear below [Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.] Regards, [redacted] Re: [redacted] Ms [redacted] [redacted] VS Meek Motors, LLCDear [redacted] ,After reading the response letter from Meek Motors, I do agree that Ipurchased the said vehicle from them in the amount of $5,which includedthe processing fee of and all of [redacted] servicesNone of this was ever inquestion when filing this complaint My main concern when filing this complaint was that Meek Motors knewthat I was interested in this vehicle for about weeks prior to me buying thevehicleAt that time I was told that the car was missing and was going to besent to the shop to make sure that the vehicle was in good running conditionprior to me purchasing the vehicleThis is something that he said more thanonce about the miss and that he was going to have it worked onIn the meantimewhile the vehicle was sent to the shop I waited for the repairs to be done andwould call and he would say that it was still being worked onAfter about 3weeks he finally said that the car had been repaired and was ready for saleAtthat time I did not know what had been done to the car but he said that therepairs had been taken care ofFinally, on 04/15/2014, I came in and broughtthe car as was said before and he had the car inspected that dayHe told me andpromised that everything was fine and I would not need to worry about anyrepairs for a long timeI took the car to Dominion Chevrolet and had the carchecked over, at that time they found that the back brakes were bad on the car,bad battery, anti-freeze leaking from hoses and the car required a battery tiedown to pass inspectionI took the car back to him and he fixed hoses, newbattery, new brakes on back of car and battery tie down was fixed at that time.Like he said he had this car inspected on 04/15/2014, but how did it pass withrear brakes that were no good and no battery tie downDoes not make sense tome when he had the inspection done the same day I brought the carNow back tothe time that the car was in the shop prior to buying, he had to have thetiming belt installed which involved all of the pulleys, crankshaft and everythingthat makes the car runIn December when car was towed back to his garage, Iwas in the garage with him and you could see the new timing belt and he evensaid that it looked like it to him tooReplacing a timing belt involves manythings such as the pulleys that connect to the crankshaft and other parts ofthe engineAnd in order to replace you have to remove many things and put themback on the car correctlyThe hoses on the car would need to be removed andreinstalled as wellSo why were they leakingFar as I am concerned the timingbelt and the work that was done on this car prior to me buying was not donecorrectly and I am having to pay the price for some half way done job He did not bother telling you anything aboutthe work done on the car prior to saleNor, did he say anything about the workhe did on the car after he had it inspectedIt should have never passedinspection A camshaft position sensoris part of the timing system on the car, when this piece was looked at it wasbroken in halfPer mechanic that I have spoken to nothing should have beentouching this piece that would have broken itThis piece is also part ofchanging the timing belt on this car I spoke to [redacted] in December, after the car had been sitting in mydriveway for over a monthHe said to tow to him and he would fix without anyproblemFar as the parts off the car it was only the lower cover in the frontof the engine on the outside of the car and the top cover off of the top of theengineThese parts were put in the back of the car because we knew that theywould have to come off anywayThe engine in no way was in pieces, in fact hetold me he thought that the crankshaft was broken in half and would have totake the head cover off to see if the crankshaft was broken in halfHe told mehe would charge me to look to see if the crankshaft was brokenI am notconvinced that he did anything to the car at all because he told me the carneeded a new engine and it was a piece of junkTold me he would not take backnor would trade for anything elseHe said it was a piece of junk and he didnot want the carHe said nothing would solve the situation except for a new engine. He asks me what I wanted to do and I told him to have it towed back to my home.I do not have to invest in a car that I just paid for and wastold that I would not have any problems withAlso told me he needed his garagefor other cars that needed to be taken care of I thought that I was dealing with a company that I could trust and wouldstand behind the vehicle that the soldBut, this company has no intentions inresolving anything about this car or even telling the truth about the repairsdone to the car before the sale of the car, or the repair after I brought thecarBad brakes do not pass inspection but Meeks Motors passed it and did notthink anything of it I do not feel that Meek Motors handled this sale in a professionalmatter, and that they should carry some of the burden when it comes to thisvehicle [redacted] *** was well aware of the problem with this car prior toselling and knew that it needed to be repairedI think that it shows that someone cannot be trusted when they can putan inspection sticker on a car that has bad rear brakes and no tie down for thebatteryI feel that I should be reimbursed for the car minus the mileage I puton it or at the very least some kind of reimbursement for the car that was broughtin good faith and by someone that believed him to be telling the truth I sent you all of the other attachments except for the one that statesthe bad brakes, etcI will attach with this letterHe has all of thepaperwork on what he had done to the car prior to me buying the carThis wasnot given to me I may be wasting my time and yours but this is very upsetting to me andI really do not feel that I have been treated fairlyThis is the onlytransportation I have and I am also disable so it makes it hard to just go buyanother car.I am also concerned about the other people that he may be takenadvantage of just so he can make a profitI am not the type of person thatcomplains but this situation has really put me in a position that I felt thatsomeone needed to know what was going on to prevent it from happening to anyoneelse, even if the outcome is not in my favorSincerely, [redacted] [redacted]

*** January 4, 2018 Case# *** Response: *
*** *** *** purchased a white 2001 Dodge Ram from Meek Motors on November 17,
2017. In reference to his complaint, I told Mr***, at the time of the purchase, that we had not yet received the title from the auction where it was purchased. And, just to be clear, I would like to correct the reference of the title being “open”, but rather that it was considered to be a “clear" title. Once the title arrived, I notified Mr*** and he picked it up. On November 27, 2017, Mr*** attempted to transfer the title into his name, but *** advised him that they were unable to complete his transaction due to an error on the Dealer’s Reassignment paperworkI immediately alerted the auction. They, in turn, contacted the *** *** *** (the original owners), and were able to swiftly provide the necessary documentation. On December 28, 2017, in an effort to extend Mr*** the best customer service experience, and save him from having to make a second trip back to ***, I retrieved the title from ***. Mr*** was notified on that Thursday, and he picked it the following Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Ever since the first day I opened my dealership, I have conducted business based on the foundation that all of my customers were to be treated fairly and honestly, and with respect. As a result, my business has prospered. Most of my customer base are either repeat customers or the result of a recommendation. Throughout the unfortunate set-backs encountered while attempting to attain Mr***’s title, I, along with my staff, have consistently been apologetic and apathetic to his situation. I responded to every request, and handled every circumstance (even those beyond my control) within a timely manner. Sincerely, Davin M***Owner

To Whom it May Concern, In regards to the transaction between Meek Motors #and *** ** ***, we have received a complaint issued through the Revdex.com from Mr***. Upon investigation of the sale, I have learned that Mr*** did test drive the
vehicle prior to purchase. As stated by Mr***, the vehicle was listed at $***. The sale price of the vehicle was then negotiated down by Mr***, citing the radio not functioning correctly after his test drive, to what he believed was a fair price for the vehicle in AS IS condition at $***. Our salesman agreed to that negotiation and the vehicle was sold in AS IS condition with no warranty. We do take pride in our business and often go above and beyond for our customers to be sure they are satisfied with their purchase. We cannot, however, be responsible for work done outside of our shop after a sale has been completed. Mr*** had the vehicle worked on by someone outside of Meek Motors to replace a tire after the sale was completed. Since that work was completed, the complaint is that a beeping sound is heard every seconds. I believe the shop who replaced the tire would be the first to handle the beeping issue that has appeared after the tire was changed. We also received a phone call from a young lady who claimed to be his sister, a lawyer in Minnesota, and were told that there would be legal obligations on our end due to the Lemon Law. Title Chapter of the Code of Virginia is the Motor Vehicle Warranty Enforcement Act, otherwise known as Virginia’s Lemon Law. 59.1-states: "Lemon law rights period" means the period ending eighteen months after the date of the original delivery to the consumer of a new motor vehicleThis shall be the period during which the consumer can report any nonconformity to the manufacturer and pursue any rights provided for under this chapter."Nonconformity" means a failure to conform with a warranty, a defect or a condition, including those that do not affect the driveability of the vehicle, which significantly impairs the use, market value, or safety of a motor vehicle. "Warranty" means any implied warranty or any written warranty of the manufacturer, or any affirmations of fact or promise made by the manufacturer in connection with the sale or lease of a motor vehicle that become part of the basis of the bargainThe term "warranty" pertains to the obligations of the manufacturer in relation to materials, workmanship, and fitness of a motor vehicle for ordinary use or reasonable intended purposes throughout the duration of the lemon law rights period as defined under this section. The vehicle involved in this transaction has been on the road for over ** years and *** miles. Any manufacturer’s warranty has expired. The vehicle is no longer considered a “new motor vehicle” and therefore is not affected by the Motor Vehicle Warranty Enforcement Act. Also, it appears that any nonconformity issues are to be taken up with the Manufacturer and not the dealer. Since there was work done to the vehicle after the sale outside of our control, it would be in the customer’s best interest to try to sell the vehicle himself on the private market. *** values the vehicle around $*** as a rough trade in. With that, he may actually be able to make a profit himself. We feel that Mr*** has paid a very fair price for the vehicle that was purchased and we have no fault since he test drove it and then negotiated an AS IS sale. I have attached the signed copies of the Buyer’s Order, Buyer’s Guide, and AS IS documents. Please see attached. Thank you, Lou C***ManagerMeek MotorsResearch RdN Chesterfield, VA 23236804-379-4911www.meekmotors.net

Re:[redacted] Ms. [redacted]. [redacted] VS Meek Motors, LLCDear [redacted],After reading the response letter from Meek Motors, I do agree that Ipurchased the said vehicle from them in the amount of $5,844.60 which includedthe processing fee of 95.00 and all of[redacted] services. None of this was ever inquestion when filing this complaint.  My main concern when filing this complaint was that Meek Motors knewthat I was interested in this vehicle for about 3 weeks prior to me buying thevehicle. I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The information that Meeks responded with is absolutely false. They denied any issues with my car from the moment I purchased. Making promises of repairs and assistance through my third party warranty. The owner [redacted] was very rude, loud, angry and hostile toward me with all two of my complaints regarding my car. He continued to tell me nothing was wrong with my car after having another mechanic do diagnostics. He would over speak me, not allowing me to speak. I have several witnesses to theses behaviors from [redacted] as well that were with me. The language they are referring to was me questioning if [redacted] called me a "b[redacted]"  after he turned his back on me and told me to get off his lot with my "attitude" . I apologized for the language, and explained that I was simply questioning if that was what he has said to me. [redacted] was very unwilling to look at my car or the issues any farther and told me that the car is just "old" and poorly made. That nothing was wrong with my car, that the steering and vibration were normal. To take it to another mechanic to get another opinion. So I did. [redacted] told me that it they found anything wrong, my warranty would cover repairs yo to my $1000 deductible. I expressed my concern with paying anything more for repairs that I could not afford on a car I just purchased two days ago. He then told me "that's why you have a warranty" and even if he needed to replace the engine, he could do so with only me paying up to $300 AFTER the warranty. He said this in front of me, my father and mother In Law, that were there to give me a ride home ( if needed, to have car there for repair). My husband was also there at the end of the conversations to hear the warranty statement that [redacted] made to me several times. [redacted] was loud and rude to my In Laws, over speaking them, not allowing my father in law to speak or ask questions. My husband, my parents and a friend of mine was also there during the next visit after my car was taken to cloverleaf tire for that second opinion. We spoke to [redacted] who is the office manager for most of the conversation, but when [redacted] came in, he then again became loud, rude, hostile, and continued to tell me "Ur not getting anywhere with me with that attitude" and I was sitting next to my husband NOT SAYING A WORD! my husband then stopped him, and asked him to not speak to me like that again. [redacted] was trying to reach out to the warranty company, and told me she would call me back with an update. I had to continuously call them to get updates, and she would tell me nothing yet. It took three days for them to contact me, just to tell me the warranty declined all repairs to my car and [redacted] was asking for an additional $1000 to replace my engine. Plus the cost of radiator repair and AC repair. I feel like when we were there, they were saying whatever they needed to get me off the lot and out of their hair. Which was making promises they could not keep. And denying any issues, so they did not have to take anymore of their time with my car., Meeks motors were rude, disrespectful, hostile, and completely  unprofessional!!!  I paid $2,635 for my car and an additional $250 for the warranty. My contract states vehicle price $2,500.00, processing fee $135.00 totaling $2,635.00. The warranty agreement states Service Contract Price $250.00. I paid $ 2,811.28 for my car and if I cannot get my car repaired with warranty deductible of the $1000, I would like my $2800 back! I am attaching a copy of the dealers agreement stating car price and the Warranty agreement stating warranty price.

Response:

Dear Ms. [redacted], We, Meek Motors, have reviewed the letter concerning Mrs. [redacted]’s complaint about the warranty. To address this issue, the warranty company will not cover a blown head gasket due to the overheating of the vehicle. A promise was never made to have the warranty company cover this. In sympathy, we stated, “We would work our magic,” in terms of disputing this issue with the warranty company. We apologize if there was any miscommunication. After many phone calls with our warranty representative and other various members of their company, the end result was they could cover the warranty due to neglect. In their response they concluded that the only way to blow a head gasket is to run the vehicle “hot,” therefore they would not compensate neglect. The amount requested is not practical. The vehicle was offered for $2,300.00 with no third-party warranty or $2,500.00 including the warranty. The claimed amount paid of $250.00 for the warranty is false. Attached is the paperwork from this deal to reference the breakdown of charges, plus the paperwork signed by Mrs. [redacted], stating this vehicle was sold “AS-IS.” We will note, that prior to Mrs. [redacted]’s purchase she confirmed the “AS-IS” state of the vehicle through a mechanic of her choice. In consideration, we offered Mrs. [redacted] a new engine at a wholesale rate for $1,000.00. She responded by stating she was considering pursuing legal actions against us. At this point, we will not further any discussions or contact with this customer due to her irate actions in our dealership on numerous occassions. Her actions included: screaming foul language, cursing at the owner, throwing tantrums in our office, and threating lawsuits for a vehicle purchased “AS-IS.” All in the presence of a two year old and potential customers. We will add, we removed the two year old from this violent environment. We feel we have done everything in our resources to alleviate this situation. Meek Motors cannot be held responsible for what another company will and will not do.

Review: I brought a [redacted] which had 100006 miles on it on 4/15/2014, I paid him 5880.00 for this vehicle. Prior to me buying this car he said that the car was missing and he sent it to the shop to have it repaired which took about 3 weeks to complete the repair. When received car back said everything had been taken care of and gave me 3 mo 3000 watt. on this purchase. I took back to him because back brakes were bad, and hoses were leaking antifreeze and there needed to be a tied down for the battery and the battery was bad. He replaced. Then in October 2014 the car stopped running at all would not start. Sent back to Meeks and he said that the crankshaft was broken in half and that the car would need a new engine to repair. When he sent the car away the first time he had a new timing belt put on the car, which involves all of the pulleys, crankshaft, sensors and everything else. A crankshaft does not just break in half. The crankshaft position sensor that was removed from the car had a groove going through it and nothing should have been touching this piece of equipment. Before I spoke to Meeks I told him I had spoken to a Hyundai mechanic and he said that this was not normal that the timing belt was installed improperly to begin with. Meeks is saying they are not responsible for any repairs, told me it was a piece of junk and needed new engine. I just paid this man 5800.00 for this vehicle less than 6 months ago. I believe he knew what he was selling and that he should reimburse me for what I paid for the car minus the time and mileage I put on it. I am disable and I live on a fixed income and it was not easy for me to pay that much money for a car that was going to be no good after not even six months.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund or for him to fix the car so that I will have what he told me he was selling me something I could depend on for a long time and not worry about. Now I am without any transportation and can not afford to buy another car.

Response:

[redacted]In response to your letter concerning [redacted] E. [redacted]’s complaint. We have consciously revised Ms. [redacted]’s concerns. Upon review, Ms. [redacted] purchased a [redacted] on April 15, 2014, for a total of $5,844.60; which included our processing fee of $95.00 and all of her[redacted] services that are provided in-house to take care of taxes and titling fees.Prior to Ms. [redacted]’s interest in our vehicle, the [redacted] was at [redacted] on 04/15/2014 being serviced and state inspected. The [redacted] passed inspection on the same day Ms. [redacted] purchased the vehicle. We offer all vehicles sold a three month or three thousand mile warranty through a third party company. Ms. [redacted] was offered to purchase an extended warranty at cost, however, as stated, she declined. In December, we received a phone call from Ms. [redacted] with her concerns about her vehicle. In response we towed her vehicle to our shop at a whole sale rate. When the vehicle came to our car lot, the engine was in pieces in the back of the Santa Fe. Upon diagnosis we confirmed the crank shaft was broken. We feel Meek Motors LLC has provided exceptional concern for Ms. [redacted], unfortunately, the vehicle was purchased AS-IS. Meek Motors LLC explained the risks as it was stated in the Buyer’s Guide. We have attached all copies of paperwork done at time of sale. Please let me know if there are any other questions concerning Ms. [redacted]. I can be reached at [redacted] or by email [redacted]Sincerely,[redacted]

Response:

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]

Regards,

[redacted] Re:[redacted] Ms. At that time I was told that the car was missing and was going to besent to the shop to make sure that the vehicle was in good running conditionprior to me purchasing the vehicle. This is something that he said more thanonce about the miss and that he was going to have it worked on. In the meantimewhile the vehicle was sent to the shop I waited for the repairs to be done andwould call and he would say that it was still being worked on. After about 3weeks he finally said that the car had been repaired and was ready for sale. Atthat time I did not know what had been done to the car but he said that therepairs had been taken care of. Finally, on 04/15/2014, I came in and broughtthe car as was said before and he had the car inspected that day. He told me andpromised that everything was fine and I would not need to worry about anyrepairs for a long time. I took the car to Dominion Chevrolet and had the carchecked over, at that time they found that the back brakes were bad on the car,bad battery, anti-freeze leaking from hoses and the car required a battery tiedown to pass inspection. I took the car back to him and he fixed hoses, newbattery, new brakes on back of car and battery tie down was fixed at that time.Like he said he had this car inspected on 04/15/2014, but how did it pass withrear brakes that were no good and no battery tie down. Does not make sense tome when he had the inspection done the same day I brought the car. Now back tothe time that the car was in the shop prior to buying, he had to have thetiming belt installed which involved all of the pulleys, crankshaft and everythingthat makes the car run. In December when car was towed back to his garage, Iwas in the garage with him and you could see the new timing belt and he evensaid that it looked like it to him too. Replacing a timing belt involves manythings such as the pulleys that connect to the crankshaft and other parts ofthe engine. And in order to replace you have to remove many things and put themback on the car correctly. The hoses on the car would need to be removed andreinstalled as well. So why were they leaking. Far as I am concerned the timingbelt and the work that was done on this car prior to me buying was not donecorrectly and I am having to pay the price for some half way done job. He did not bother telling you anything aboutthe work done on the car prior to sale. Nor, did he say anything about the workhe did on the car after he had it inspected. It should have never passedinspection. A camshaft position sensoris part of the timing system on the car, when this piece was looked at it wasbroken in half. Per mechanic that I have spoken to nothing should have beentouching this piece that would have broken it. This piece is also part ofchanging the timing belt on this car. I spoke to [redacted] in December, after the car had been sitting in mydriveway for over a month. He said to tow to him and he would fix without anyproblem. Far as the parts off the car it was only the lower cover in the frontof the engine on the outside of the car and the top cover off of the top of theengine. These parts were put in the back of the car because we knew that theywould have to come off anyway. The engine in no way was in pieces, in fact hetold me he thought that the crankshaft was broken in half and would have totake the head cover off to see if the crankshaft was broken in half. He told mehe would charge me 50.00 to look to see if the crankshaft was broken. I am notconvinced that he did anything to the car at all because he told me the carneeded a new engine and it was a piece of junk. Told me he would not take backnor would trade for anything else. He said it was a piece of junk and he didnot want the car. He said nothing would solve the situation except for a new engine. He asks me what I wanted to do and I told him to have it towed back to my home.I do not have 3000.00 to invest in a car that I just paid 5800.00 for and wastold that I would not have any problems with. Also told me he needed his garagefor other cars that needed to be taken care of. I thought that I was dealing with a company that I could trust and wouldstand behind the vehicle that the sold. But, this company has no intentions inresolving anything about this car or even telling the truth about the repairsdone to the car before the sale of the car, or the repair after I brought thecar. Bad brakes do not pass inspection but Meeks Motors passed it and did notthink anything of it. I do not feel that Meek Motors handled this sale in a professionalmatter, and that they should carry some of the burden when it comes to thisvehicle. [redacted] was well aware of the problem with this car prior toselling and knew that it needed to be repaired. I think that it shows that someone cannot be trusted when they can putan inspection sticker on a car that has bad rear brakes and no tie down for thebattery. I feel that I should be reimbursed for the car minus the mileage I puton it or at the very least some kind of reimbursement for the car that was broughtin good faith and by someone that believed him to be telling the truth. I sent you all of the other attachments except for the one that statesthe bad brakes, etc. I will attach with this letter. He has all of thepaperwork on what he had done to the car prior to me buying the car. This wasnot given to me. I may be wasting my time and yours but this is very upsetting to me andI really do not feel that I have been treated fairly. This is the onlytransportation I have and I am also disable so it makes it hard to just go buyanother car.I am also concerned about the other people that he may be takenadvantage of just so he can make a profit. I am not the type of person thatcomplains but this situation has really put me in a position that I felt thatsomeone needed to know what was going on to prevent it from happening to anyoneelse, even if the outcome is not in my favor. Sincerely,[redacted]
