My husband and I had a checking account with Granite State Credit Union that was closed a few years ago. We had a negative balance that was recently paid in full. In addition, I held a joint savings account with my son that contained several thousand dollars in it. Granite State Credit Union decided to close this account without any real notice. No phone calls. I went into the bank today to be told my account was closed. I was told I could not access my funds and that a check was mailed out to me. The check was made out to my son as well. I could not get to our funds. Alicia [redacted] accused me of stealing funds from my son due to this account that we held together. She also told me that I never settled my delinquent account when in fact I paid it in full. They have been reporting it to the credit bureau as unpaid and still are. I was upset when I went to the bank. When I talked to Alicia after I got home, she told me that she called me several times, to advise me of this, which was untrue. Accused me of stealing, ect. She was rude and obnoxious. She was unwilling to supply me with a receipt to report to the credit bureau that the account was paid in full. She told me I could no longer be a customer of the Union, refused to give me a real name of her supervisor and extension. When I tried to call for her and her supervisor, the name and contact information was non existent. I was advised that I could no longer do business with them, among the many other things that I could no longer be a part of. I was told that the funds from this account was mailed and I could get it anytime. My funds were gone, and I no longer had an account that she told me that I owed all of it to my son. From being lied to, discriminated against, and not being allowed to access my own money or proof that I no longer had a debt with them, I am upset. My credit is being ruined by their inaccurate reports, I am not allowed to access any supervisor's real name or contact information, and I am being called a liar. Wouldn't you be a bit upset? I was advised no longer to call there... I was told I couldn't do business with them nor call anyone... but yet...She has left me voice messages. This is a very strange and bizarre game. They didn't want us as customers and found a way to delete our account so that we can't access our money or do any business with them further.
