Review: I contacted Mega Movers on Aug. **, 2014. I got their number through their ad on [redacted]. The man who answered the phone, [redacted], assured me many times that he charges $50 per hour for 2 men to come with a truck to move my belongings from 1 place to another. He stated there were NO hidden fees. I clearly stated that my new address has 3 flights of stairs. He stated that it wasn't a problem. We set plans for the men to come on Aug. [redacted] at 1pm. At 12pm (1 hour before scheduled)today, the 2 men arrived. 1 man was nice, the other 1 was very rude. After they filled up the truck, they followed me to my new address. The rude man got out of the truck & locked up the back & said "Give me $300". I stated that that was not the price that was promised to me. He refused to unlock the truck & give me my belongings. After 15 minutes of arguing, he said "Fine, you give me $170 & I'll move all of your stuff up to the 3rd floor as promised." I felt that it was the only way that I could get my belongings out of his truck, so I gave him $170. After he removed my items, he got in the truck & started to drive away - without his partner. My husband had to run to his truck & jump into the front seat to ensure that he didn't flee. At this point, my friend called the police. The man became belligerent & very frightening. He told my husband to "punch him" many times. After an hour of waiting for the police to come, the nicer man got in the truck & left - leaving his partner behind. The frightening man started quickly walking down the street. My husband had to follow him for 5 blocks. At this point, I located a police car. The police stated that they can couldn't make him give back my money or force him to complete the job. They said I would have to contact his boss. The man left with my $170. During this whole disaster, I called his boss [redacted], 7 times. He didn't answer. I had my friend call using her cell phone, & he instantly answered. When he heard my voice he hung up. I'm APPALLED.Desired Settlement: I agreed to pay $50 per hour to have 2 men move my belongings from 1 place to another. The [redacted], clearly stated that there were NO hidden fees for ANYTHING. Then men worked (with my husband's help) for exactly 1 hour. That should clearly equate to $50. I had to give him $170 for him to open the truck and take my belongings out. I am owed $120.
