Sure I experienced a lot of problems others have mentioned. Changed and/or renewed my add a few times. But in the end I, a bisexual man, met a few good people including two who became good friends. Hint, keep your ad clean and you'll get better responses.

Even though my number was suppose to be removed I received calls at 2-6:00 AM and when I called their horrible customer service they told me my number was not in the system. DO NOT USE!

Tried calling corporate but just got put on hold for two hours.

In theory, Megamates is a good idea. But the people using it screw it up to hell. Most people are too cheap to spend a lousy $11 to buy about 10 prepaid messages so the receiver gets the message at no cost. Then, if you pay your $20 plus for retrieving messages sent to from someone to cheap to send them prepaid, you find the message from someone joking or having fun knowing you just got burned. If someone is too cheap to spend $11 for prepaid messages, that person has no business being on Megamates or any other dating site. Everyone should have to pay their $11 or so to send messages...and everyone should receive messages at no cost. If Megamates made this change, it could be a big marketing campaign and it would greatly improve the site. Meanwhile, never never never pay for message retrieval because the message you hear will be total crap. But, do pay the affordable $11 or so to send messages if you hear a public message you like. No matter who, no matter what, DO NOT ever pay for message retrieval...even if a message is from someone you sent a message to. In my own recorded public message I always say “ do not hit #2...hit #5 and only send me a prepaid message”. Anyone too cheap to do that has their head up their as.

Let me add one thing to my previous post. Yes, everyone can send messages for free. This forces the recipient to pay for message retrieval if you want to hear the message...which we all know you should never do. AND, everyone can also send prepaid messages so the recipient does not have to pay anything...and this is the way, and the ONLY WAY Mega Mates should operate. As long as we have to pay for message retrieval, we will usually waste money on inappropriate messages that never should have been sent, and we will get pissed off at mega mates and, like me, everyone will refuse to pay and will feel like it’s a rip off and mega mates will be haunted by is and low quality people. Mega Mates has a bad reputation for this reason. So sad, because the simple change I’ve suggested in this and the previous post could vastly improve Mega Mates...but that won’t happen because that would require a little bit of work OR because it is very satisfying to trick people new to Mega Mates into wasting $20 or more on message retrieval. Never never never never pay for message retrieval! But paying to SEND prepaid messages is ok..if you hear a public message you like.

Mega mates should completely eliminate the feature called “Message Retrieval” where you pay to hear messages other callers leave in your mailbox. If you pay for message retrieval you pay over $20 for a very small number of messages and this ability expires in just one week! These messages you might receive are free for other callers to send to you. That means they have no skin in the game. And what usually happens is you receive messages from absolute is telling you what they don’t like about your public message or they do not leave you their phone number so you have no way to contact them...unless you pay to send them a prepaid message. So, you get sucked dry—-money wise—-and the is sending you the message pays absolutely nothing! INSTEAD...everyone should be made to pay to send messages ( called prepaid messages ) and that should remain very affordable...like about $11 for 10 messages with NO expiration. The person receiving a message should pay nothing. That way, everyone had some skin in the game...everyone pays something affordable. And no one has the ability to “punk” anyone else into paying for joke inappropriate messages. For myself, I don’t mind at all paying an affordable $11 for ten prepaid messages that do not have a time frame or expiration. But I will never never never never pay for message retrieval because you risk getting burned by an is who shouldn’t be on the system. Never never pay for message retrieval !

Between 8/31/14 -
9/30/14 Mr. [redacted] recorded five public messages that were all posted and played
on our public message line until he removed them. During this time he purchased
packages with us on 9/01/14 and 9/12/14.
On 10/01/14 Mr. [redacted]
purchase another package and recorded a new public message that was also posted
on our public message line.  On 10/2/14 he called into our customer
service department to complain about a response that he received from one of
our female customers regarding his current public message playing on the line.
The following is a
transcript of what he said in his public message "The experience
on this line has been extremely useful to ascertain what I don't want in a mate
or a person. I'm not (laughs) it's been useful for that reason it's been a
negative teaching experience. Anyways I don't anyone who talks in cliché, I
don't want anyone who watches FOX news, I don't want anyone that is a slave to
the TV or watches Lifetime. Those things are intellectual killers that kill the
brain.."
When our Quality
Control department was following up on Mr. [redacted] complaint his public message
was reviewed and determined that the negative response he was reporting was
initiated by his public message.  So for Mr. [redacted] and the female
customers who are hearing his message may have a better experience it was
determined that his public message should be removed and a recording sent to
him containing guidance to avoid future negative responses. This was the
message that our Quality Control Department sent to Mr. [redacted]: "Regarding
your public message, it's fine to make a brief statement about what you are NOT
looking for, but we don't want you to be negative. So after that point could
you please go on telling us about yourself and what you are looking for, then
we'd be happy to post your message on our system. If you need further
assistance, please feel free to call us 24 hours a day, toll free at 1-888-Megamates,
that's ###-###-####. Thank you."
Mr. [redacted] still had
access to the package he paid for during this time and the opportunity to
record another free public message. Mr. [redacted] never contacted our office yet he
continued to call into his box up until Wednesday, 10/08/2014 therefore
receiving the service he paid for in full.
Just to clarify it's

Control sent to Mr. [redacted] encouraged him to so. Although he chose not to record
a new public message his profile was still active on ourservice and the
opportunity to meet other people through private message the service he paid for,

I was a paying member since August 29 2015. Inexperienced but with best and serious, grounded intentions for socializing and dating, I opened up my account on that day, recorded my message which did attract a lot of positive responses.

Unfortunately, I've started receiving a lot of pointless, nonserious harrassing hang up calls through chatlines calling me whenever they wanted at home, but I took that as an inevitable part of life..... until, today September 10 2015 when something horrible happened to me, enabled through Megamates. I received a call to my home from Megamates saying somebody has asked to chat with me. I accepted the chat, little did I know what was about to happen.... When that murky, stern voice started talking to me, I felt we weren't a match and I said to that aggressive person to stop wasting my time.That person immediately resorted to calling me all kinds of horrible names and started threatening me with physical violence and terroristic threats!!! I said one thing in defense of myself and I soon hung up the line. I blocked that person and reported him to Megamates. It seemed at that point that Megamates was handling this ok. But, about less than an hour later, that same person was enabled by Megamates to call me again from another mailbox pretending to be someone else and threatened me more, verbatim, "When I see you, I'll crush your head!!!", AND, a top of that, he was enabled by Megamates to send me an instant message, although I had blocked him, to insult me even more and more with all kinds of insulting words, to threaten me physically and terroristically even more and more, verbatim,"You opened a can of worms, I'll beat the [redacted] out of you, I'll rape you, I'll kill you....", to the point I couldn't listen anymore to that whole horrible message, but I rushed to block that mailbox he was using, too and report it.

When I called Megamates service to report this, from certain operator a received a rather cold shoulder and an unfriendly attitude. The operator started complaining how many times I called to report (although it was only second time, the operator started lying it was my third time, totally incorrect!) and he proceeded to interrupting me, jumping into my words, twisting my words and tell me "we were both wrong" !?!?!? and he hung upon me. I called again Megamates this time to speak with a supervisor if they had one, certain Betty said she was a supervisor and that she heard about what happened, but her attitude was even worse, she berated me for not hanging up immediately on that user and for trying to defend myself with something I had said I had tried to protect my dignity and myself from the attacker. She insisted even more that "both of us were wrong", EVEN THOUGH I NEVER INITIATED THE CHAT NOR DID I CONTACT THAT ATTACKER AT ANY WAY TO ARGUE NOR FIGHT WITH HIM, even though I just kept blocking the attacker from me and reported him at timely manners, she didn't appreciate any of that, she proceeded to interrupting me, jumping into my words, twisting my words and yell at me, not once letting me to finish my sentence. I told her then to delete my account because of horrible experience this time with Megamates staff themselves, she refused.... I called, having seen that my account is still not deleted, another operator at Megamates, she was willing to help me,but Betty interrupted, tuned in out of blue again, saying she was overhearing everything I was saying and started to argue with me yelling at me endlessly....I just told her I would need my money of the remainder of the subscription i.e. September 29 back, she arrogantly said I wasn't gonna get any refund but she would delete my account, and I finished this nauseating conversation.

I don't know about you folks elsewhere, but I know I'll never use Megamates again and am fighting now to get the refund for the remainder of my subscription. I'm also fearing that they gave to the attacker all of my infos so I can expect being physically attacked or even [redacted], "thanks to" Megamates.

In short, BEWARE of Megamates dating site, they're not only thieves but criminals obviously! No wonder they're not Revdex.com accredited.

My major mistake was for trusting them at all.

This never happened before in my life nor it ever will, trust me.

Review: I'm not able to record a greeting on the date line, since mgmt is not allowing my messages on the line, claiming that I am "too negative", therefore I'm not able to avail myself of the service and meet other people. I am being unreasonably censored, whic is causing me to miss opportunities to meet people.
