We wan t to thank Mrand Mrs*** for bringing their concerns to our attention.The Service Manager of Megee Plumbing and Heating spoke with Mr*** directly by phone on 1/21/regarding his concerns.Our conversation was cordial and professionalEven though we differed in some aspects of the
service and concerns and agreed on some others, we came to a mutually agreeable conclusion during the course of our conversation

On June 20, Megee Plumbing and Heating was called to the home of *** ***She called at 9:23am, we arrived at II:40am that same day
When the technicians arrived *** * *** gave an overview of the recent hi story, as she stated in her letterThis is an important part of our
diagnosis processKnowing the unit was frozen can be caused by many things which includes a dirty filter, refrigerant levels, and lack of air flow due to a bad motor to name a fewIt also causes the technician to be concerned about water damage from the block of ice melting on electrical componentsThe technician did see water on and within the motorAnytime an electrical device gets wet it poses m any safety issuesUnlike a wire getting wet which can be easily driedWater in this motor is a concern due to the fact the motor is not designed to run wetA technician cannot visually see an y damage within the motor, and cannot determine 100% that all the water is removed This can easily cause a fire not only immediately on starting up, but at a later dateWith safety for *** *** and her family in mind , knowing the motor is wet we recommended a replacement motorThe motor in question is a variable speed ECM motor which is quite expensiveBut Megee Plumbing and Heating's primary concern is safetyFor a licensed contractor to install a 9v battery to get a wet motor running I s I n our opinion unprofessional and causes safety and insurance liabilities. Megee will not perform services in that manner
As for the circuit board replacement; not until we get a safely running motor in place could we check if there are any other damages caused by the freeze up and subsequent water leaking*** *** states the board needed replacement, I don 't doubt thatBut that still does not take away the fact that we diagnosed a safety issue that needed to be corrected first and foremost
In our opinion we perform ed a service, properly diagnosed a wet and unsafe blower motor, and gave *** *** an upfront price for repairIt is her prerogative to accept or decline the repairShe chose to declineIn doing so she takes all the safety liabilities upon herself
Megee Plumbing and Heating first priority is safety for the clientThis trumps revenue anytime! Even though Megee disagrees with the reasoning th at *** *** gives for requesting a $refund we want to maintain a 100% customer satisfaction recordMrs Rushing is not I 00% satisfied so we will refund the $diagnosis chargeBut Megee Plumbing and Heating is confident we did what was right, safe, and in the best interest of *** *** and her family

As a contractual customer, I expected to receive better service. I called to have McGee repair two water lines and probably leak in a drain line under my mobile home. Although they responded quickly the first time they came out, the plumber reversed the hot/cold line, did not connect the cold line, and did not repair the drain pipe leak. The second time the plumber came out, he hooked the lines up correctly, but still neglected to repaid the leak in the drain line. The pipe with the leak had black tape over it and was quit obvious that this was the location of the problem; the pipe was visible cracked and damaged at the 90 elbow. Called a third time, to repair the original issue, the leaky drain, and they told us that they were going to charge an extra fee since we were calling on a Saturday. This is ridiculous since I should have not been unconvinced more that once in the first place. Any licensed plumber should have picked this up and repaired it the first time. I will not be renewing my contract nor ever contacting or recommending McGee to anyone.

The complaint against megee plumbing was closed after I accepted the offer to refund  the service charge of $94.00, that was July 23. I still have not received a payment in check form or credit to my account from this company.

Review: I had a heat pumped installed for the winter and heating was terrible and now the summer is here and I don't have air. The unit never shuts off.These people have been to my house more times than enough and have yet to solve the problem. They make unanswered promises. I am paying for a unit that is costing me more in electric than ever.Desired Settlement: I want it repaired and a billing adjustment. Can't afford to make payments and pay electric bill.

Review: On June 20, 2014, two servicemen from Megee Plumbing came out to diagnose the ac unit at our homeI told them that the unit had frozen the day before, due to a neglected filter, and had since been thoroughly cleaned and thawedI told him everything started up like it should except the blower fan wouldn't come on as it did right before the unit was turned off due to the water surrounding the unit on the floorHe was pretty sure the blower motor was shot, I showed them both downstairs to the unitVery soon after they came back upstairs and told me the motor was wet and it no longer worked and I would need to replace itThey went out and came back with a total and at that point I paid only the diagnostic fee
My husband who was working at the time of their visit said their diagnoses was incorrect since he had troubleshot the unit by running the motor off of a battery, which it is still running to this day, It is not the blower motorOn Monday the 23rd, I spoke with the service tech supervisor, [redacted], who informed me that the technicians said, "it didn't work while they were at our house", and if it was working it wouldn't be working for long because it was wet[redacted] didn't offer any resolution other than that we were doomed to replace a working blower motor
June 29th we scheduled another technician to come to the house who actually spent a little time in the basement to properly diagnose the unit and discover that the board had no power going to the blower, which is why we have been able to run the blower motor off of a volt battery, but it was not sending signal to automatically start the blower motorDue to a mix up with the shipping we are still running the motor blower off of a battery keeping the house cool days later
I do not think it is fair that we had to pay for a misdiagnoses due to the fact their servicemen assumed verses properly testing the unit that I paid to have performed with no offer to resolve the issueFurthermore, and this is the main reason I am filing a complaint, how often does this company do this? If it wasn't for my husband assisting an HVAC technician in his early years we would be sitting here in a hot house wondering where we were going to come up with $to fix our blower motor, the kicker would have been once they replaced the working motorwe would have had to replace the boardand this may be out of line but fitting the situation, would we would have to pay for whatever other part they thought might be bad as well
I have their receipt for the work on the 20th as well as the receipt for the other Company.Desired Settlement: I Had always assumed this was a credible company, but I do not want them to come back into my house, the work will be finished by the Technician who properly diagnosed the unitSince I had to pay for another service call I wish to be reimbursed the $I paid initially
