Meineke Car Care Center #297

Review: On September 5, 2001 I purchased from Meineke Discount Mufflers a Liketime Warranty on a Muffler [redacted] Y (Warranty=LIFETIME), part number [redacted] (MAR) /19917 MAR . When I took my car back to Meineke to have the muffer repaired/replace, I was told the Muffler was too old and a new muffler was to be purchased at additional cost of $400.00 I refused to do this since this muffler was purchased with the lifetime warranty and I am the original owner.Desired Settlement: The terms of the warranty stated on the back of the bill of sales states:

"Your newly installed muffler is warranted for either as long as you, the orginal purchaser, own the vehicle serviced or one year from the original date of service. If a lifetime warranty is indicated on the face of this invoice, your newly installed muffier is warranted as long as you, the original purchaser, own the vehicle serviced."

Since I am the original owner of this vehicle with this Lifetime warranty, I feel that Meineke Discount Muffler should either replace this muffler as agreed in the original contract or be responsible for replacing it with another one at their expense in accordance with the terms of the original warranty.
