Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[There was communication on the issues of the vehicle, however, it is completely unacceptable and unprofessional regarding the car being unable to start immediately after visiting Meineke. Especially after being told the car was "safe to drive" before returning the keys! No "diagnostic fee" does not conclude that a diagnostic was not done - given that the business test drove the car multiple times. It acts as an excuse to keep the business from accepting responsibility for unprofessional customer service.
Regards,

[redacted] did indeed have his car at our shop on the date stated. I [redacted] haveincluded a copy of the bill [redacted] was given that states his complaint and our findings, as well as the bill for the brake work done 4 days prior. We had 3 technicians test drive the car. As you can see there was...

no diagagnostic fee assessed for the test drives that yeilded no noises. There was no noise present at time of shop visit. The only things we could find wrong are stated on the bil, Tires are making noise, too much oil in car, and valve cover gasket  leaking.Servicing of the brake system 4 days prior would have absolutely nothing to do with a no start condition.I [redacted] had offered to [redacted] to bring car in so we could identify the cause of the no start issue. He did not want to bring car in for us to do so. I told [redacted] it seems that we are at an impass until we see the car.We will not be fixing or towing the car free of charge. Thank you for yourhelp in this matter.

She was in in on dates she stated but when I recommended$ new tires she never asked what kind of tires they were it was not till she left and checked on line for tire prices that she came back to asked question s about the tires we sold her . The price we sold the tires to her at with...

mounting balincing and disposal was cheaper than the tire supplier sells them at on the car out the door . Every one knows you can bu y every thing cheaper on the internet the time to do that is prior to the purchase not after. The tires sold to her we sell a lot of with no complants . As for the tires blowing out after she hit a curb there I s no t ire made that would hold up if you hit a curb . Hitting the curb blew the tire out and damaged the rim s not any fault of any tire on her car again even if they were the best tire ever sold hitting a curb would blow them out also and cause damgage to rims. We do not offer any road hazard on tires and she never asked at time of purchase. We will not be able to do any thing for her as the damage to tires and rims was from faulty driving not faulty tires . This has been explained sevral time by me and sevral other people.

Review: I am writing as a 68 year old senior who holds that I was sold tires, inappropriate for my use, by Meineke store [redacted] DE. I believe Meineke representave (supervisor ?) there misrepresented to me the pricing and quality of these tires.

On June 2, 2014, Meineke supervisor [redacted], informed me that I needed new tires when I came in for an alignment check. At that time [redacted] attested to the quality of tire(s) stating the tires were made by [redacted], and provided pricing of 477.99 for the 4 tires and alignment. The alignment price was 69.99 and so the tires 408.00 or $102.00 each. to breakdown the pricing per this supervisor.

The ride on the tires, I found, was bad, and I researched to realize I was supplied tires worth 60.00 each (or less). So on June 9th I returned to complain on this, as well as about performance, and [redacted] said the variance between tire "cost" and 102.00 agreed price was, I was told, the mounting charge/disposal --some $40!. I was not given an estimate to sign for authorization to proceed, and did not formally approve or sign for $60.00 (or less) tires with another 70% of that amount charged for mounting, disposal! At this same visit I begged for replacement with more expensive (and safer for me) tires, for which I would pay the difference in cost. This was denied me by [redacted], even though I explained that cheap tires scared me; I would never buy such. Indeed this store knew, from 8 years I went to them for best of maintenance care, that I took care of my car (and my life!)

Three weeks later I ran over a curb and suffered IMMEDIATE flats (in seconds) to driver side tires and damage to rims as tires lost all air instantaneously. Tires valued at 100.00 plus, as I expected I was buying and begged to replace upward a few weeks before the incident when I realized the quality of tires I was provided, perhaps could have withstood this impact or at least avoided damage to rims.

As for [redacted] manufacture claim by [redacted] -- the tires I purchased are not one of the [redacted]Tires line; they are not warrantied or manufactured to the [redacted] standard. One [redacted] dealer whom I consulted told me he would never put this (cheap) tire on his customers'

vehicles (and indeed he did work with them), unless they insisted on this tire. [redacted] also told me at purchase that this tire (Starfire RS-C 2.0) was a better grade than price I was paying as warehouse did not have the tire Meineke initially was getting me. Starfire is a company owned by [redacted] Tire and Rubber; the RS-C 2. I I got, manufactured by Starfire and not [redacted], is the cheaper/cheapest Starfire tire!

Would you please help me as at least the $204.00 I spent on 2 passenger side tires, are totally wasted as I cannot keep them (my valid safety worry-- as mentioned above-- as I cannot change a flat or allow myself to be stranded!). This amount is more than a quarter my monthly pension. I also hold that better tires might not have not blown this way...allowing immediate deflation and damage to rims. I have spoke with Meineke corporate but the issue has not changed. I requested to name of the tire supplier (supplying warehouse) but that information was denied me.Desired Settlement: Replace of 2 tires still on my car to a tire valued around $102.00. I would pay compensation for the better quality but request mounting, disposal, balance fee which is on par with area tire sellers/installers.

Review: I had an alternator placed on my car for several hundred dollars. The power steering became a problem. When I looked under the hood, the bolt holding the alternator came out. This loosened the belt for the alternator and power steering. This bolt coming out frayed the belt. This is substandard work. I had to get a new bolt and belt. I feel I should be reimbursed for this work. The bill was $63.40.Desired Settlement: I would like the money spent to correct their sub standard work.
