Went to this shop to have a short piece of exhaust pipe (8") installed between muffler and tailpipe on my 1995 [redacted]. truck. Picked truck up to find very poor welding and exhaust leaks. Was assured by [redacted], Shop Supervisor, that problems would be resolved. I thought job should be re-done. Picked up truck the second time to find that more poor welding had been applied on top of original welding to stop leaks. I will NOT return to this shop under any circumstances. We had advised our customer that our welder was having problems that day and the way the weld turned out is the result of that. I feel they had their chance to re do-the original job properly. I do not want them to do any further work on my vehicle. My only satisfaction would be in a full refund. I doubt that a third time would be any better. I feel that when I brought the truck back a second time, it gave the shop an opportunity to do the job correctly. Also forgot to note in my original complaint that the piece of pipe that was installed was of a smaller diameter than the two pieces of pipe it connected, thus somewhat restricting flow of the exhaust. Should have been the same size or larger. To satisfy this complaint, I feel that a full refund is warranted. on 02/20/2014 I had some work done at the shop in question. Some brake work was done satisfactorily. When the truck a 200 trundra was inspected it was found to have a fluid leak in the rear axel which would require a replacement kit from Toyota. which with labor would come to $1072.98. and would require 2 days to complete. I had to rent a car. About 3 weeks later I was flagged down buy a motorist he pointed out that I had a leak coming from a wheel . It was the same leak as above only worst. I took the truck back they worked on it for a day and a half. I was told to bring it back in a week and they would check it out. It started leaking in about 2 days worst than ever. I took it back again and told them that I was going to leave the truck with them for 2 weeks starting April 20th. so they could have plenty of time to fix the problem; by the time I returned from a trip. It so happened that on April 19th I was involved in a 3 car pile up. Not my fault. I told the shop what happened. after I returned from the trip the truck stayed in a tow yard waiting for an insurance adjuster. He finally came I talked to him and he would tell me nothing. I was tied up with a lot of problems concerning the wreck and had to obtain a lawyer as the insurance companies involved were trying to get out of paying. In early june I took a friend to the same shop for car repairs. while there I ask about a refund as it would be sometime before I new the outcome if the truck was to be repaired or totaled. They said No refund as the truck would be totaled. This they decided on there own. I wrote the main company on June 8th and the sent a copy of the complaint to the shop and later called me ant told me seance the truck was totaled there was not going to be a refund and they would do no further repairs regarding the original problem. I have a copy of the original bill that I can send if required. I only want a refund or a liquidating of the bill of $ 1072.98 which is currently being paid through a meineke credit card.Desired SettlementAs stated above the liquidating of the amount of $1072.98 that is currently being paid through a Meineke credit card. I think this is more than fair as the work was never completed. I still don,t have a ruling on the truck in question. But it boils down to the fact that I am paying for something I never received.Business Response The vehicle was totaled in a accident. I am sorry for the customers loss. But this does not give him a refund on work done prior to the accident.As I told the customer we were ready to fix the problem at no charge. We even had his keys and on the day we were suppose to fix the problem the vehicle was totaled. THE insurance company probably owns it now or the customer bought it back. By any insurance company. I was told at the shop that they would not do any further repairs. This should not be under any warranty as the work was never completed. The accident in question is in the hands of a lawyer. according to him it may be a year and a half before this is settled. again I don,t know if the insurance company will total or fix the truck. The shop as decided on there own to say that it is totaled when they have never seen it. From my experience with them on my vehicle and a friend I took to them . I have come to doubt that they know what the are doing. vehicle is siting in my back yard an insurance company does not own it. The Axel kit was not installed properly. Every time they attempted to fix the problem it got worst. how can they site negligence and miss use clause as if the accident was my fault as the accident clearly states that it was not.
