I have enclosed a copy of the invoice for ID 1***On that date I was the person who explained our findings to the customerWhen we repaired the vehicle on 8/6/I explained to the customer and notated on the work order
that there could be additional oil leaks due to the amount of oil that was present prior to service also invited her back to recheck the car in a few days and typed that comment onto the paperwork I referred to the oil cooler as I have seen many leak and fail in my experience but at that time the oil sender fixed the constant leak since we ran the car and checked it in the shop after the repair We also parked the car out front and did not see any oil spot underneath as was happening before Even the customer would have seen oil under the car if it was still leaking As the customer states the problem did not occur for almost months I understand the customers concern due to the oil leak and offered to resolve the repair that day for $152, a discounted rate, when we spoke on Monday October I even ordered the parts thinking that the customer would do it that day
I regret that the customer is not happy but there are many places oil can leak on a vehicleWe try to replace only what is needed at the timeI hope the customer can understand our perspective as well

Review: On Saturday October 3, 2015 I took my car to the Meineke to get my wheel bearings worked on. I was given a previous quote of $506 from the employee [redacted]. I gave the quote to the manager [redacted] who was setting me up to get my car worked on. I dropped my car off. I called back at 2pm and asked when will my car be ready to get picked up, the manager [redacted] told me it will be ready by 2:30pm. At 2:30pm I was called back by [redacted] who said there was bad news. He told me the news was bad but it wouldn't be a financial burden or cost me any extra. The news was they were working on the bearings and the wheel knuckle broke. He told me they would order the wheel knuckle I needed and I did not have to pay. He then told me he would come in on Sunday, his day off to fix the part. On Sunday the part was still not there and then [redacted] told me it would be ready hopefully by the end of the day Monday. On Monday I received a call from [redacted] stating that my car was ready to be picked up around 3:30pm. I went to pick my car up at 5pm. When I was given the total the price included the part that they broke for me to pay. I asked [redacted] why do I have to pay for a part that they broke. He then said because it broke while doing the work on my car. This is not my fault that his workers broke a part that was perfectly fine before they started working on it. I shouldn't have to pay for a part that they broke. Also I believe that they say they broke the part purposely so that they could get extra money. Then [redacted] said they had to pay $125 for the part, again that's not my problem because his workers broke the part. This was also a huge inconvenience because I dropped my car off thinking it would be [redacted]e the same day not two days later. I was stuck without a car and had to catch rides to and from work, also had to find rides for my 5 year old daughter to get to school. This all happened to me because they broke a part on my car and then they told me I had to pay for what they broke. Also after I paid the total amount including the part that they broke, my ABS light is on in my car. That means that they shut off my anti-lock breaks. When I called back and told [redacted] that my anti lock breaks were shut off he told me to bring it back and they will take a look at it. He said that they must of forgot to connect a wire or fix something. I asked was that going to be a all day thing to fix and he said perhaps. I have been scammed for my money and the job was not done correctly, and they have caused more damage to my car than in the beginning. I want a refund.Desired Settlement: I am going to need a refund on the part that they broke. Also they need to fix my anti-lock breaks without breaking anything else on my car.

Review: I visited this location in the beginning of August for an oil leak. Upon first looking at my car the man at the front desk said it was oil everywhere and they needed to clean it up, which was fine. The man then told me it looks like it was the engine oil sensor that needed to be replaced, which was okay with me. I was charged $225 to fix the sensor which temporarily stopped the leak. At the end of September, I was having the same issue again so I went back to this location. After looking me up in the system the man at the front desk said "Oh yeah, this is the car we fixed the sensor on, but we thought it might have been something else, its leaking oil again?" I said, "yes." There was a man that actually works on the car sitting in there and he said "Is that the car we replaced the sensor on but we couldn't replace the (I am unsure of the name of the part) but we didn't have it?", the man replied "Yes", when he asked if they ever received the part in the man at the desk never answered back. At this point I'm furious because if he had initially told me that it could have been something else that he could not fix I would have taken it somewhere else. He told me he could take a look at it, but I could not leave it there so I told him I would bring it back. I had to have my father bring it back the because I was unable to. My father dropped the car off on Monday morning and by that evening when he called back the man at the front desk told him that he had called Nissan and Nissan said it was a common problem and they could fix it for $150. At this point I'm extremely furious because now they want to charge me again after I had already paid for them to not fix the issue. When my father picked the car up he asked the man at the front desk why didn't they see that the leak was coming from there before, he told my father "It was oil all over the engine last time, so we couldn't see it." This tells me that when they said they were cleaning it up the first time I went, they did not, and also that they did not perform a proper diagnostic on my vehicle. I paid over $200 for them to fix something on my car and hope for the best. After taking my car to another mechanic, he then told me that the sensor they replaced not only was done poorly, that that was not the issue. This leads me to believe that the men at this Meineke location not only knew that the sensor wasn't an issue, they didn't fix the problem in order for me to pay for more work to be done. So after everything, not only was my oil leak not resolved, the sensor they replaced was done in a poor manner, and they knew that what they had done was not going to fix my problem which would lead me to come back. I am disappointed and furious at this.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is to get a full refund of what I paid for these services. The proper work was not performed in order to stop my oil leak which has resulted in oil on my driveway as well as massive oil puddles in front of my home which I now have to find a way to clean up. I also had to pay $180 to get my car fixed because I can no longer trust this location to properly fix my vehicle.

Response:

I have enclosed a copy of the invoice for ID 1[redacted]. On that date I was the person who explained our findings to the customer. When we repaired the vehicle on 8/6/2014 I explained to the customer and notated on the work order that there could be additional oil leaks due to the amount of oil that was present prior to service. also invited her back to recheck the car in a few days and typed that comment onto the paperwork. I referred to the oil cooler as I have seen many leak and fail in my experience but at that time the oil sender fixed the constant leak since we ran the car and checked it in the shop after the repair. We also parked the car out front and did not see any oil spot underneath as was happening before. Even the customer would have seen oil under the car if it was still leaking. As the customer states the problem did not occur for almost 2 months. I understand the customers concern due to the oil leak and offered to resolve the repair that day for $152, a discounted rate, when we spoke on Monday October 6. I even ordered the parts thinking that the customer would do it that day.

I regret that the customer is not happy but there are many places oil can leak on a vehicle. We try to replace only what is needed at the time. I hope the customer can understand our perspective as well.
