Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *** and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowDuring the installation, I
got a call from the MEINEKE manager telling me they were having problems getting the headers and exhaust to sealHe commented that the headers were NOT AS HARD AS WHAT WAS ON THE VEHICLE BEFORE, so I concluded they had to force the tightening and the headers gave someI went in to pay and the manager said to come back in a few days to have the headers re-torqued, but they were unable to get the left side to seal When I left MEINEKE after they had worked on my vehicle the best part of one day and some of the next, I was told the left header I supplied was defective and would not sealThe manager said I should contact the header manufacturer and have the header replacedHe, at one point asked the manufacturer if they would pay MEINEKE to install the replacement header and the manufacturer said no.
Before I contacted the header manufacturer in California to replace the header, I decided to get a second opinion locally because I felt that MEINEKE would tell me the same thing again if I took it back to themI figured if I had the header company sent me another header and there still was a problem, it would be even longer delays without my vehicle, and I do use the vehicle dailyMy neighbor was good enough to take me to leave it and pick it up when they worked on it, but I had to arrange for someone else to pick my grandson up from schoolBesides that, I'd already called the manufacturer more than once trying to help MEINEKE resolve the issue, and had the manufacturer call the MEINEKE manager*** said he did talk to them and they wouldn’t pay to remove the left header and replace itWhen I discussed this issue with the header manufacturer, I was told they had never encountered such an issue as described by MEINEKEI expected the exhaust company I took it to for a second opinion to tell me the header was bad as MEINEKE had stated, but within minutes, the mechanic called me back, told and showed me what the problem wasMEINEKE had failed to remove all of the old gasket from one of the old pipes and that was what was making things not line upThat was written on the receipt for the repair and I told *** to call himAdditionally, he told me MEINEKE failed to tighten the left header and most of the leak was coming from thereI did keep the gasket and it shows the header was leaking a great deal

I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.
I appreciate that they have come to this resolution.

After reading the second response, I understand why Mr. [redacted] wanted to take it to another shop for a second opinion and I hope that the connection continues to seal. We will issue a reimbursement of $106.00 for what was paid to the other shop if that is satisfactory to Mr. [redacted].

We just received this complaint for the first time today and called Mr. [redacted] and left a message for him to call us back.

This is a 10 year old vehicle with 154,000 miles and the wheels have been off many times I'm sure. We hand torque all wheels to minimize any problems. The last visit on 4/20/17 was noted that there was a problem developing with the lug nuts and Ms. [redacted] was informed at that time. We take full...

responsibility for things that we are at fault for but unfortunately this is not one of them.

We will issue a refund for $305.58 per customer satisfaction. We apologize for any inconvenience.

I am grateful that the service issue was recognized and the mistake admitted, and accept the $106.00 credit if it is issued.  Expression of my dissatisfaction will continue however.
My dissatisfaction stems not from with the work done …… anyone can make a mistake.
This dissatisfaction stems from continued one-sided negotiation instead of doing the right thing.
I called and talked to the owner before starting the complaint process and he started negotiating which I told him did not interest me. He offered $55.00 credit for parts at that time.
Now I’m offered $106.00 for what I paid to have the mistake fixed, and rightfully so.
 As explained in earlier communications:
 * I was charged extra labor during the repair because the mechanic left part of the old gasket on the down pipe. The MEINEKE manager told me when he called me to say he’d need to keep the truck overnight they would have been done much sooner if the header had lined up and sealed. $133.00 credit due.
 * The bill included charges for unneeded parts used in an attempt to get the header and exhaust system to seal, caused by the old gasket being left on the down pipe. Manifold mounting Hardware and gasket set was $62.22 plus $4.36 tax credit due.
I’m glad to hear there is agreement that a second opinion and having the repair done elsewhere was in line given the circumstances.  The total bill I received and paid when I left Meineke that day was for $1019.86. This included work I requested in addition to the exhaust. All the other work was done properly and I was glad to pay it.
The right thing for a reputable business is to admit the mistake, which has been done. Now the credit for $305.58 should be a no brainer.
Labor               $133.00
Parts                    62.22
Tax on Parts          4.36
Repair at GAP   106.00

Total                $305.58

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowask [redacted] if he suggested I have a diagnosis first why I walked in the service bay and told him if he was any kind of service manager he would have suggested the diagnosis before changing the plugsask [redacted] what plug he qouted for the higher price. Double platinum. Then said they would put in regular platinum as he had qouted me the day before. The new service station is the one that finally fixed my car for only $275 is he one that informed me that meineki had install copper plugs instead of platinum plugs that are called for in the vehicle. [redacted] also said the the wires ended up being burnt threw by the manifold. I have the wiring harness and can send photos after I return on July 11th. ]And seeing I told [redacted] I was taking him to small claims court he can change his paper work to say anything just like he is lieing about him saying "I guarentee it will fix your problem "  there are no chew marks on the wires and I can prove that with the picture I will send the insulation is melted but no wire is broke in any form and no teeth marks on the insulation
