Review: On Thursday, February 25, 2016. I had taken my car to receive an oil change from the local Meineke. Shortly after receiving my vehicle back, my car off in the middle of the street and began smoking. My car wouldn't start after that. I lifted the hood to check everything out and noticed that my car had the wrong oil cap on it and my oil was quart low. I then had a wrecker truck to take it back to meineke. Meineke employees all deeded me down that they didn't do anything to my car. I found that hard to believe because I've never had any problems with that vehicle. They then offered services to fix it but wanted me to pay for it. This is the second vehicle of mines that this has happened to at Meoneke in Tappahannock. I got a two other opinions on the car and both shops are saying that meineke has done something to damage my vehicle so I'm looking at $1,000 to fix it. The manager got very nasty with me when I explained to him that my car didn't have these problems before giving it to them.Desired Settlement: Refund of what it's going to cost to fix my vehicle

Review: I took my car to Meineke in Tappahannock on Saturday for a tire rotation and oil change. That evening when I went to start my car it started rough which it has never done before. The check engine light came on. I made an appointment with the dealership where I purchased the car and the Service Department diagnosed the issue as the oil cap and dipstick were not securely placed back on. Their first question was has the oil been changed recently. I was charged $99 for the dealership to reinstall the oil fill cap and dipstick and clear the codes on my car. I took my receipt which clearly states the issue to Meineke and spoke with the manager [redacted]. He was extremely argumentative and arrogant and made the assumption that the dealership was wrong because his guys wouldn't mess that up. He would barely let my mother or I speak and was just plain rude. He kept asking why we didn't bring the car back to him so they could take a look at it. We told him with the way the car was running we weren't sure what the issue was so we needed to have it serviced. He would not refund me any of the money I spent there so one oil change and tire rotation ended up costing me almost $180. He didn't treat us with respect or handle the situation properly. I will never visit another Meineke and will advise family and friends not to either!Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed the $78.34 I wasted there

After checking belts and hoses I immediately called Meineke in Tappahannock because they were nearby and still open. This auto repair shop was awesome and said they could see me immediately, even though they were closing in an hour.
The truck limped over to the Meineke in Tappahannock shop on a bottled water, and these guys ran a quick diagnostic and knew what was wrong right away - the water pump had gone out.
The estimate was reasonable, and the turnaround was quick. They said they could have it ready by the next morning, and they did. They even accommodated my last-minute decision the next morning to use a factory replacement instead of an aftermarket one.
Having your truck in the shop always sucks, and it certainly wasn't cheap. But it was a fair price and seems to be quality work. And Meineke in Tappahannock do courtesy follow-ups to make sure all is well. I recommend this shop if you're in the neighborhood.

Overall a pleasant experience at Meineke in Tappahannock. They are quick, professional, and honest to my knowledge. Called and made an appointment for the next day. Within an hour of taking in my car, I had a quote. Within 2 hours of the quote, my car was done, and drives like a dream. I think I finally found a new body shop.

An unexpected journey left me at Meineke in Tappahannock after finding a great coupon for an oil change receipt in my husbands car. I am used to paying around $40 for my oil change. So after work I brought his receipt and the coupon and got the same deal. But, I have a V6, so mine was a little more. Totally expected. He got lucky, they didn't charge him for his V6 oil change. I paid $21 and some change. Coupon can be found on the website. If you cant find it, its on the coupon page.
Great location, easy in, easy out oil and lube Plus service center. Offering oil changes, tire rotations, basic service. Packed with a friendly staff and comfortable wait room.
I pulled in Meineke in Tappahannock around 4:30pm and was out in about 20 minutes. They gave me a listing of recommended work to have done, and were never pushy. being a female, they never told me I had to do this, or that.
I will return here for my oil changes for fast and fabulous service.
Thank you Meineke in Tappahannock !

I just got my oil change here last week and I was very happy with my service. I was greeted before I even walked in the door. The guys at the counter were really nice and gave me frequent updates on my vehicle as it was being worked on. They were pretty busy on this day and estimated an hour for the service, I think they try to over estimate. It took about 30 to 45 mins. For $23 they changed my oil rotated my tires changed my filter and gave me an estimate to get my brakes replaced. I don't know a lot about cars they explained everything to me in a non condescending manner which I appreciated. The manager was the main gentleman that helped me, he was very nice and respectful. I will definitely be coming back for my future oil changes and to get my brakes replaced.

When I received a recall notice from Chrysler regarding catalytic converters in all Jeeps in a certain time frame. I brought my Jeep to the nearby Jeep dealership to have the catalytic converter replaced.
When I picked up the car, I noticed that the car was louder than usual, especially when idling at a stop light or stop sign. I brought the car back to Jeep and all I got is "Nothing is wrong. We don't see anything".
I brought my car to Meineke. They noticed there was a small hole in the muffler.
He takes about 10 minutes to look at the car and comes back and says "I can fix the hole for $55.00 but your muffler is going to need to be replaced in the next 6 months to a year, so I can fix the hole or I can install a new muffler for $135.00, whichever you want" I couldn't say "Install a new muffler" fast enough. 25 minutes later, I hear my car start up and I automatically hear the quiet purr that I haven't heard in oh so long.
I love this place and I highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to get ripped off. Please don't waste your time anywhere else.

Review: I called on Friday, August 1, 2014, and scheduled a 10:00 a.m. appointment for Monday, August 4, 2014, with [redacted] of [redacted] Meineke, to repair my [redacted] I told him that the vehicle had malfunctioned on the highway the previous Saturday and overheated with smoke. I had it towed to my residence and needed a tow to Meineke. [redacted] recommended [redacted] of [redacted], which delivered the vehicle to Meineke Monday morning.A [redacted] Meineke mechanic spent 7.5 hours attempting to repair the vehicle. I asked Meineke to fix an engine leak that was causing the engine to smoke each time I started the vehicle. The mechanic chose instead to pull out and replace the radiator, which he claimed had a tiny leak on the right side of it, and then do some diagnostic testing on the vehicle. He refused to complete a Virginia state inspection until I had agreed to allow him to replace three tires and fix a part under the back left wheel. He claimed he had fixed a heater and air conditioner problem. Upon completion of the 7.5 hour service, the mechanic moved the vehicle out of the garage and parked it in front of the office. I paid Meineke $940 for the service. When I got into the vehicle, it malfunctioned and did not want to start. After three ignition attempts, it started and began to sputter and miss as before. The engine light was still on and the engine leak had not been repaired. The mechanic told me it would take an additional 20 hours at $2,000 to complete the service. This, to me, was outrageous. At this point, a Hispanic male appeared and claimed to own the franchise. ([redacted] was off duty this week.) The male would not give me his name or business card, which I found suspicious. He refused any more service and said he would not fix the engine leak, which was the stated problem upon arrival for service. He said he did not want to deal with me anymore because he felt I was being verbally abusive when I told him I expected the vehicle fixed for $940.Desired Settlement: I would like Meineke to complete the original repair, which was to fix the engine leak that is causing the engine to smoke and break down each time I drive the vehicle. Then the engine light must be programmed off so that it won't continue to come on each time I start the engine. This must be done at no additional cost to me.Upon completion of all work, this vehicle must start easily, run with no sputtering or missing, and drive with no smoke overheating the engine or interior.
