I am rejecting this response because:
The initial fix done on that Sunday like they stated, is untrueThey charged me for replacing the wiring to the starterUpon further review by a family mechanic, the wiring was the old wiring on the vehicle, not brand new, like I was chargedI'm not sure exactly what they did to start the car, but it may have only involved tightening a wire or the starter housing and not reviewing it furtherThat was my justification for a refund

Response:In response to [redacted]'s complaint (ID# [redacted]), I would like to respectfully submit our response to her claims. [redacted]'s vehicle, a 2005 Hyundai Sante Fe, was towed into our facility on Sunday August 2, 2015, with a no start complaint. After a complete diagnosis, our technician...

found a bad connection/wire, which we repaired, and the vehicle started normally with no indication of further concerns. After the repair our technician, as per our standard protocol, re-checked the starting/charging system to be sure there were no other issues after the repair was completed. After completing the post repair diagnostic, the vehicle showed no points of concern, and the system components all checked out as good and within normal operating specifications. As stated in her claim, the vehicle returned the following day with a no start condition, we re-inspected the vehicle and found the starter was faulty and it was not the repair we had completed on her prior visit. [redacted] was upset, which is understandable given the situation, however, it was not the fault of our location/technician that the starter was faulty. If the starter had given us any indication of failing, we most certianly would have made the suggestion to replace it, it checked out fine and the vehicle started and left our facility after it had been towed in because it would not start. The suggestion that we didn't repair the vehicle is false and supported by those facts. We refunded [redacted]'s original repair as she requested, in full, in spite of the fact that we diagnosed the vehicle twice; (which typically involves a diagnostic fee), and we repaired the vehicle on the first visit. She then also states in her complaint that the starter ultimately fixed the second issue, which we diagnosed on the second visit, again at no cost to her. We refunded the entire amount she paid us for the first repair because she was upset and did not understand the situation. If the starter were bad the car would not have started and left. We never do repairs that are not necessary, which is excactly why we did not replace the starter on the initial visit. We did repair the vehicle at a fair price. I do regret the misunderstanding on [redacted]'s part, however, I am glad that our diagnosis and repair, neither of which she paid us for, fixed her vehicle. Thank you for your assistance in resolving this issue.

Review: I had my 2007 Nissan Versa taken to Meineke Muffler on RT 45 in Woodbury,NJ.....2 weeks later after the oil change was completed. The car started making a loud noise and started shaking and then it broke down. We had the car towed back to Meineke. Meineke looked at the vehicle and they said it was a seal behind the transmission that caused the oil to leak. So they requested to have the car towed to the transmission repair shop across street. The service man at the transmissions shop checked the car and stated that leak had nothing to do with the transmissions. The transmission department requested to have the car towed to [redacted] Auto repair on Delsea Dr. in Westville. The owner [redacted] checked the car and upon his findings it showed no oil in the engine . Which caused extensive damage to the engine.Desired Settlement: All 3 towing expenses, the repair of the motor, loss of work wages.

Review: On Sunday, my car wouldn't start so I had it towed to Meineke to be checked out and possibly repaired. While they were looking at my car for about an hour, they determined that my starter had come loose & a wire was bad. They claimed they rebolted the starter & replaced a wire. They charged me for this service & sent me on my way ($150). Sunday afternoon, I drove the car home with no problems, but decided to run an errand to which on the way out, the car again would not start. This was only a few short hours later. I had to call for a tow truck again. I had it towed again to Meineke to have them fix their mistake. I was willing to let them fix the problem in hopes that they would help with some of the cost of having to return for a 2nd visit & to fix their original repair work. My car had to remain overnight at the shop because it was closed. I called them promptly Monday morning (7:30am), & let them know I left the car for them to fix again. At 10:30am, when I hadn't heard from them, I called again. They stated that the vehicle was just put on the lift to be looked at it. I didn't hear anything for a few more hours, so I called again at 1:30pm. This time they stated that one of the mechanics was just 'finishing it up' & the man at the front desk would call back in a 1/2 hour. This worried me, because I never approved any work to be done. They did not call back, so again I called at 3:00pm. This time, they stated that I needed a new starter and that it would cost $650 for them to do it. They said that they could lower the price some with the bill I already paid, but were unwilling to work with me further. Throughout the day, they made the situation more uncomfortable by repeatedly saying they were "busy" & never once calling me. On Monday, my car was there for 9 hours, when they finally told me it was the starter that needed replacing. My boyfriend advised having it replaced by his father, because I was so aggravated with the situation. This is what I did.Desired Settlement: I want this Meineke to receive a lower grade on the Revdex.com rating system. They were not willing to work to fix their first repair and rectify the situation. They never called to give updates on my car's condition. They frustrated me further by saying they were swamped or busy with their workload, like it was my fault.

In the end, I argued to get them to refund my original $150 cost, and release the vehicle so that I could have it towed, a third time, to my boyfriend's father's home. His father repaired the vehicle within an hour, with a new starter I bought. To add insult to injury, one of the first things that his father checked was the starter wiring, and discovered that Meineke had not replaced any wiring that they had claimed to have done on Sunday.
