I feel for Mr. [redacted] and understand that he wants someone to fix his problem but it is not my problem to fix.
On 7/21 he came in for an oil change and wanted to know where is oil leaks were coming from. At this time there was no oil indicated on his dipstick. His engine was soaked in...
fluids and we recommended degreasing the engine and adding dye so we could try and find the source of leaks. On 7/28 we replaced transmission fluid cooler fittings that were leaking.
On 8/8 he came back and we degreased his engine, added dye, and told him to come back in a couple of hundred miles so we could see where leaks were coming from.
On 8/10 he returned and the engine was oil soaked from the top. Investigation revealed that his power steering hose has numerous pinholes and would need replacement. We scheduled that for Saturday the 13th. On Monday the 15th I was informed by Meineke Corporate the Mr. [redacted]'s engine had failed over the weekend and he had contacted them.
His engine failed over 3 weeks after we did his oil change. Nothing that we did caused his engine to burn oil until it failed. In a good faith offer I said I would replace his engine for the cost of parts and steeply discounted labor. Mr [redacted] declined this offer saying I "owed" him a new engine free of charge. He said he was going to call the Attorney General, and you, and I am sure he will complain to others as well.
Now that he is carrying out his threats I rescind my offer and will deal with the organizations he will complain to.
