Meineke Repair Center #865

I went to just to get get an oil change. Seconds after leaving garage my car wouldn't move and lights came on. My mechanic told me it was their fault.
I went to Valvoline in Shrewsbury, MA to get an oil change. When in the garage they were showing me I could use a new air filter but it wasn't mandatory and cleaned out a bunch of leaves out of my hood. When I started my car back up, and was exiting the garage, while in the parking lot still, all these lights on my dashboard came on and my car would not drive. I had told them that my car was completely fine before this, and I had no lights on my dashboard when I turned my car off for the oil change. I noticed the light on the dashboard was for the electric throttle body and I had that serviced, over a year ago. The techs there then tried to say that my mechanic must have messed something up and that's why it is broken now, a year later. I explained I never had any problems since.

When I got it towed to the mechanic, he told me it was definitely the throttle body and then asked me if they had gone in my hood and pulled out my air filter and was cleaning around there, and I explained yes because they were trying to tell me I would need a new air filter at some point but wasn't mandatory that day, he then kept explaining it was there fault when they took it out and was cleaning around it, it did effect it. My mechanic then wrote it in the receipt and emailed me my receipt. After I sent in a complaint to valvoline, they contacted me and opened a case and made me send my receipt which I did. A week went by and they never got back to me so I emailed again and they called me again today 3/25 and told me that was not the techs fault and that it was my own and I had to pay for it out of pocket.
