RE: Complaint # [redacted] Hi [redacted] ,Per our conversation earlier we would like to advise Ms [redacted] that though her account was given to our collection agency, we did not report it to the credit bureau so her credit should not be impacted Per our records the initial transfer from the insurance company for the amount of $was made to her ledger in the beginning of treatment due to her insurance company misquoting orthodontic benefits on her plan However Ms [redacted] is correct in saying that this issue should have been addressed sooner We would like to extend our apologies to Ms*** for this error.Due to the circumstances surrounding this issue Dr [redacted] believes that the full balance of $should be forgiven As of this afternoon we have contacted our collection agency and she has been removed from their systems, and all ledgers pertaining to her family have been zeroed out in our systems as well.We sincerely hope that Ms [redacted] will accept our apologies and finds this resolution acceptable.Kindest Regards, [redacted] ***Financial Coordinator [redacted] * [redacted] , D.D.S A Dental Corporation [redacted] ***Sacramento, CA 95834PH: [redacted] FX: [redacted]

Review: Dr [redacted] admitted that he failed me in my treatment but has refused to reimburse us for monies spent. He had me in braces for 3 1/2 years and my upper two front teeth are still protruding, one is crooked and one of the roots is still not properly moved for my needed implant. I am also very concerned about possible root damage in my future because now I will be in braces for a total of 5 to 5 1/2 years. In addition, moving my root beginning at age 14 would have been easier for the orthodontist and less painful for me. Now I am again starting the process of having my teeth straightened and root moved at the age of 18. The braces will be on for 18-24 months. My parents and I trusted Dr [redacted]. We were misled for 3 1/2 years in thinking that he knew how to adjust my teeth and roots to make room for the implant. Dr [redacted] has been given a copy of the most recent x-rays reflecting the above problems.Desired Settlement: Reimburse us $9,414. for monies spent thus far which includes the cost to have Lyons Orthodontics do the work correctly (copies of all receipts have been sent to Dr [redacted] and are also available upon request). This does not include my future costs for the implant and crown which I do not expect Dr [redacted] to pay.

Response:

Consumer states that they received a full refund from the company and that they are satisfied.

Review: Back in 2008 my son started orthodontic treatment at [redacted] office. My son finished his treatment in 2010, the orthodontic office removed his braces and I did not hear anything from the Drs. office. Fast forward to 2014, I received a notice from my credit monitoring agency that a collection account was reported. I contacted the collection agency to find out what exactly was going on; they provided me information as well as the statement from [redacted] office. Apparently, my dental insurance denied the claim for payment. I contacted [redacted] of PA to receive an explanation of why the claim was denied. Very simply put, the insurance company advised they asked [redacted] office to provide an EOB or DOB for the services provided prior to them taking over as my insurance company. The dental office never complied, so benefits were denied. In addition I also contacted [redacted] of Virginia to get the DOB. (According to the statement that was provided to me I was the only party who made payment.) [redacted] of VA advised that indeed 2 payments were made prior to [redacted] of PA taking over my benefits in 2010. One payment for extractions and 1 for ortho treatment. I am extremely frustrated and irritated that a professional establishment would wait 2 years after service has been concluded to try to collect from insurance; followed by not complying with what the insurance company is asking for. Finally waiting 4 years after service has been completed to put my account in collections impacting my good credit. It took me all of 25 minutes to find out the reason benefits were denied and what the insurance company needed to pay the claim and I am not in the dental insurance industry.Desired Settlement: I would like this account removed from collections and the negative account removed from my credit report immediately. I would like the Drs. office to comply with what [redacted]l of PA is requiring in order to get the claim paid so this claim could get paid and resolved.
