To whom it may concern, *** wants to say her vet her can confirm those pictures are not of the pup I sold her is a lie since they ARE pictures of the pupI have plenty of people that were the day I took those picturesShe wants to the pup had worms which is funny because all my pups are wormed from weeks up every weeksShe just expected to get the pup for free thinking as soon as she demanded money I would give in so I assume it’s a scam she has pulled beforeAll of my pups go to the vet also starting at weeks old and go back every weeksI have all of my vet receipts that I can send in if they are neededYet again if she wants money she needs to return the pup to meAnyone who gets a puppy or has gotten one knows a responsible pet owner takes the pup to the vet as soon as possible to be checked, wormed, and updated on shotsAnyone who sees my dogs knows they are healthy and spoiled to deathIf I love my dogs as much as my own child why would I not get them medical attention if needed? That would be like saying my child is injured but that’s ok I’m not going to take him to the doctorEven when my own vehicle was not running I always found a way to get my babies to the vetI do not come from money like *** and her husband want to act like they doI have a wonderful vet who I have went to for years and who does not charge outrageous prices or give discounts for referring someoneI want this matter settled and for *** to quit expecting to get a pure bred pup for freeAnd I find it funny that I sold the other pups from that same litter and *** is the only wanting to file a claim if one was so sick or treated so badly the other people who bought pups would have filed a claim tooThis is just something to take into consideration and to think about I find it funny that just her pup would be in such bad health and treated so badly but the others were perfectI also find it funny that out of not only that litter but all of my animals only that one pup was suppose to be so badYou can ask anyone that knows me and my family we will go hungry before we let an animalAll of this should be a clue that all she is after is money and expecting something aka my pup for freeIf I could find someone to drive me to West Virginia I would just to get the pup back, give her her money, and have this all settled

Please see the attached forms to this email as I believe they contain supporting factors to the complaint ID listed above. You will note that the forms are from two different vets. The [redacted] Animal Hospital, as our neighbor recommended, saw her urgently because of our fear for her poor health. The follow up visit was then handled by [redacted] Animal Hospital - our vet - later in the month. Please feel free to contact either entity. Myself, along with the vets mentioned, can attest to the pictures that she provided are not of our dog, [redacted].
With the forms provided, please take note of the drastic weight change once under our care from time of receiving her. Also, note that our vet and the Animal Hospital both had to treat the poor dog for worms because of her severe infection of such. In addition, I have text messages from her saved to my phone that are very hateful in nature. My cell company can not provide me a print out without local authorities being involved. I can forward those messages to you, though, as needed.
Thank you for further addressing this matter.

To whom it may concern,
On July 2nd, 2014 I did sell one of my pure bred pug puppies to Mrs.
[redacted] Her and her husband showed no concern with her health. They asked if she would tiny I
said yes and brought out the mom to show them. I presented...

them with the shot record where she
had just been at the vet. She did weigh 1.61bs at 8 weeks of age that is not unusual considering
the size of the parents. I did inquire the next day about how the pup was doing and she proceed
to demand her $321 back upon which I told her she would only get her money if she returned the
pup. She refused so I refused to give her money back. She then wanted to tell me I was feeding
the pup the wrong food, I was introducing her to dry dog food wetted down so she could eat it
again she was 8 weeks old. She was given her first shots when she was 8 weeks old and had been
wormed every 2 weeks since 2 weeks of age. When I asked her about what time her vet
appointment was she got an attitude and wanted to inform me it was none of my business. I
asked because 1) I am concerned about the pup and 2) because my vet is only in M-TH 10-12
and 6-8 and F&S 10-12. If her appointment fell anywhere in between that would be why she
could not get a hold of my vet. She tried to say her vet tried to get in touch with my vet is a lie, I
stopped in at my vets and was informed no one got in touch with her. And as far as her getting
the $139 back I told her no because part of being a responsible pet owner is to take the pup to the
vet to be checked and established with her vet. I have talked to other breeders who will not
refund money without the pup being returned and do not refund for the vet. Yes I did call her a
scam because after returning to WV with my pup she demanded her money back without
returning the pup and yes to me that is a scam. Once I repeatedly told her if she wanted her
money back all she had to was bring the pup back and she continually refused. After which she
change the amount of the money she wanted back now it was suppose to be the cost of the vet
bill which she only sent me a picture of the total not the whole vet bill so as far as I know that
bill could be old. To address her saying the pup was in unsanitary conditions how would she
know seeing as how her and her husband stayed outside? I also own other breeds that have been
rescues and I do not breed anything other than pug. Her and her husband did see other breeds
also running outside that belong to my cousin who lives behind me and lets her dogs run loose. I
keep in touch with many of the people who have gotten a pug from me and they can vouch for
me, the sanity of my home and yard, and for the health of ALL my dogs. I have people who after
buying one pug from me come back a year later to get a second or third one from me. Enclosed
you will find pictures of the pup [redacted] bought as well as the siblings and the parents on the
back of the photos are the dates they were taken. The brother to this pup was sold to a wonderful
lady who has kept in touch with me sent me pictures he is healthy so if he is so healthy how can
this pup supposedly have so much wrong? Everyone who has gotten a pup from me besides these
people have kept in touch, sent me pictures, or even stopped by with the pups for me to see and
never once has anyone ever asked for their money back or said the vet gave them a bad bill of
health. If you require any more information I will be glad to submit anything else that might be
required or of use.
Sincerely,
Melissa Masten
