*** charter seats must be purchased through this closely tied organization called STR Marketplace I've purchased ten different charter seats and sold six over the years with transactions in excess of $100,In my latest transaction, in addition to charter seats, I paid for season tickets which had been fully paid for by the prior ownerWe submitted the transaction to STR Marketplace at an agreed upon price, whereupon they charged a fee as the broker However, after STR Marketplace "claimed" the transaction was over, the *** charged me an additional $that was not disclosed, and was above and beyond the agreed upon priceThe seller was willing to reimburse me and kindly did However, STR Marketplace was supposed to be a broker (like an Escrow agent) in this transaction, and they were completely silent They never called me or replied to my e-mail They were willing to take their money and let the transaction go through even though it was for an amount above what was agreed Note that they have a very close relationship with the *** as the only broker that can be used, so should know all the *** policies going inI have no financial claim as I was reimbursed, but if you are considering dealing with this company, be very very careful An escrow agent should protect you at all costs It's like when you have a computer backup service, you don't know how good it is until it fails Well STR Marketplace just failed to protect me big time The *** don't give you a choice, but ask lots of questions and be sure everything is on the up and up when you deal with this shady organization
