Review: Greetings, I am Rev. Dr. Sandra Jewell, new to Yuma, AZ & asked a colleague to recommend a cleaners that was good with cleaning silk items; Melody Cleaners was recommended. I took a green, pure silk dress to them August 2014, picked it up September 2014. Put the dress away and did not have to wear it until a few days later; I discovered stains in areas under the arms(appeared to be faded or some chemical left). It was unwearable. I took a towel and tried to wipe it off for I thought it might be dust. It did not move. 7:30am the next day (10/10/14), I took the dress to the cleaners and explained the issues. The dry cleaner made a comment that it appeared that the dress had been in water. THE DRESS IS PURE SILK & WAS NEVER IN WATER. I was told that Mikel would call me. When he had not called, around 4:30pm I called back to the cleaners to ascertain the status of either receiving a call or a meeting with Mikel. The clerk said she knew nothing, asked me to hold and told me he was not in but she would convey the message. After leaving my office (which is less than a mile away), I was told by the clerk he was unavailable. I left my cell number. AGAIN, NO ONE CALLED. Saturday morning (10/11/14 about 9am) I went to the cleaners and Mikel there. Introduced myself, asked him whether he had seen the dress. He said yes, became very defensive and defiant and said he did not damage it. I told him it was not damaged when I brought it in. He said his cleaner said they did not do it. Plus he said that the item had been out of his possession for 30 days. I corrected him that it had not, I picked up the dress less than 30 days ago. I confirmed that he was not going to try to correct the problem or recompense me for my loss. He confirmed it. I tried to tell him that I travel for my work, take on a limited number of clothes that are kept in tip top shape. He said I had 24 hrs to report a damage to them. I told him in 20 years doing this work I never had to inspect clothes or had an issue with cleaners.Desired Settlement: I would either like to be paid for the dress or have a comparable dress replacement.

Review: THEY RUINED MY DRAPES IN THEIR CLEANING PROCESS. THEY WOULDN'T REFUND ME $291 PAID FOR CLEANING & HEM REPAIR. THEY SAID I SIGNED A WAIVER. ULTIMATELY THEY REALIZED THEY FORGOT TO HAVE ME SIGN IT. BUT STILL WOULDN'T REFUND ME. THEN CLAIMED THEY TOLD ME VERBALLY AT DROP OFF WHICH IS NOT TRUE. AN AFTER-THOUGHT FOR A DEFENSE AFTER THEY REALIZED I DIDNT SIGN A WAIVER TO POSSIBLE DAMAGE DURING DRY CLEANING. WHEN I ATTEMPTED AN AMICABLE SOLUTION VIA EMAIL, [redacted] CALLED THE [redacted] ON ME SAYING I HARASSED THEM. I WAS CONTACTED BY THE POLICE AFTER [redacted] COMPLAINT!!!!! EVERY EMAIL WAS SIGNED "REGARDS OR SINCERELY"....HOW IS TRYING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE IN A NICE WAY..."HARASSMENT?"Desired Settlement: IF THIS CAN BE SETTLED OUT OF COURT I WILL ACCEPT THE $291 I PAID FOR THE CLEANING/REPAIR. I WILL TAKE THE LOSS ON THE DRAPES EVEN THO THEY WERE VERY USABLE IN THE CONDITION I DROPPED THEM OFF IN. THE HOUSE WAS RENOVATED SO I WANTED THEM CLEANED. BUT IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN ADVISED IN ANYWAY ABOUT DAMAGE I WOULD NOT HAVE LEFT THEM. I WOULD HAVE HUNG THE DRAPES AS THEY WERE. THE REPAIR I COULD HAVE DONE BY HAND. BUT IF I AM INCONVENIENCED W COURT LITIGATION I WILL ASK FOR THE VALUE OF THE DRAPES AS WELL CUZ THEY ARE NOT IN USABLE CONDITION AFTER THEY DESTROYED THE FABRIC BY THEIR CLEANING PROCESS. THESE WERE CUSTOM MADE DRAPES NOT FROM A MANUFACTURER. I HAVE A RECEIPT FROM [redacted] THAT I BOUGHT REPLACEMENT FOR ALMOST $500. SO IN TOTAL I AM OUT NEAR $800. I THINK ASKING FOR JUST THE $291 PAID, BENEFITS THEM IN A BIG WAY.
