On March 31, we received a call to replace customers Galelectric water heaterThe work was scheduled for April 3, at 8:00AMUpon arrival our technician observed the water heater was approxyears oldThe technician found that the templpressure relief valve was leaking and made
some additional checksThe diagnois made was as follows: Incorning Water pressure was at PSI which is excessive and through thermal expansion may have been the cause of the relief valve to seepAs I understand there was a conversation with the customer of the diagnois and what would be done to correct itNo costs were discussed other than a cost of a thermal expansion tank (required by code)One fault we will admit to is that our technician failed to advise the Customer that the problem he found was not going to cure the issue of insuffient hot WaterWe installed a pressure reducing valve, thermal expansion tank and a templpressure relief valve or our first visit.On Our second visit (under my direction) on April 7, 2017, we made every attempt to find a problem or source causing the insuffient amount of hot water (see attached invoice), no cause was foundI called the Customer a few days later to ask if there was any change, at this point she told me that there was some additional hot waterI then asked if there was more we could do and she replied noAt this point asked if she was satified and her response was yesIok'd the invoice to be sent and that is when the relationship went badWhen someone is upset and pressing on the phone it is natural to get defensiveWhile we did not handle the phone conversation well, we do try to correctany problems that we cause.My opinion is this, had we replaced the Water heater as requested she would still be in the same position, without suffient hot waterI have been told the second company will be installing a secondwater heater just for the tub ( believe our technician suggested that on the 1st visit)Admittedly, the calls were not handled professionally but defensively.We are asking for the cost of materials + the 1st hour service charge which she would have paid regardless, for a total of $ 620.30.fam attaching a new irvoice reflecting the aboveAny further questions, please feel free to *** ***Sincerely,Jeff L*** *** *** *** ***
