Review: I filled out an application and was told I must give them a $400 security deposit for my apartment before they would process my application. I was told if I changed my mind for any reason I could not get my deposit back but if I was declined I would get it back. I lost my job before the move in process was completed. I tried to speak wit them about what to do because I did not change my mind I still wished to have the apartment but could not pay my first month rent as I list my job. I was told if I did not come in to pay the first months rent and sign my lease agreement they would not give me the apartment but would also not give me my deposit back. I tried to speaking to the manager but she will not speak with me and even though I have left several messages and was assured she would call me back she has not. I was clear on my mental issues ( adhd and anxiety/panic attacks) and in retrospect think this may have been a bad idea since they now seem to be trying to use them against me ( on more than one occasion my paranoid issue and panic clearly showed through I was irrational and obviously in distress) they honed in on the weaknesses I showed and have attempted to make me feel bad and confuse me on the facts. The facts are however still the facts. : I did not change my mind about the apartment but I cannot pay my first mints rent so they will not give me the apartment and will also not give me back the security deposit I paid on the apartment they will not let me have. I offered to bring in change of income and even apologized to them for giving false information as at the time I did believe the position I had been offered was a full time only to find out it was temporary later. I offered to bring in paperwork including any I filed for unemployment, section 8, legal papers or anything else needed if they could just hold the apartment. I was again told I could not have the apartment or my deposit back even though I have done everything properly as they told me to. I just need help knowing what to do my lease signing date has passed and I would now just like my deposit back. I feel unable to deal with them anymore due to the way they have started to manipulate me when I speak with them it sets off panic attacks ( not to mention they still have not returned my call anyway)and makes my brain too overwhelmed to deal with anything else like finding a job which is obviously very important. I thank you very much for your time and help in this matter.
Sincerely [redacted]Desired Settlement: Return of my deposit and an apology for the way I have been treated.
