First of all, I will issue the disputed amount but we will never swindle anybody that walks into our bakery to purchase anything they do notwant. The person took this client’s order was our co-owner described as young asian lady in the complaint. She is the only person that can take fondant related orders. She remember this particular order very well as they spend some time talking about it. The client wanted a design that looks like a gift box (Tiffany gift box), our co-owner stated that we can not use fondant to cover a box shaped (square shaped) cake, the best we can do is to use butter cream to create the box part and use fondant as decoration (i.ethe bow ontop) and make it look like a gift box, this is clearly stated on the order here (I’ll attach it to the email). Since it is a gift box shaped cake, we will need to use wedding cake size in order to get the height that will look like a gift box, this means we need to charge our client by serving (which is standard for all wedding cake), please see break down below for this case
$per serving x servings (8in square cake) = $
this includes fondant bow on top and other decorations to make it look like the gift box
$per serving x servings (8in square cake) = $
this is full butter cream cake without any fondant decorations
Just an extra note
Client indicated in this complaint that only serving was need it, but during the order process we were told 20-servings and that’s why we used the 8in square. The 6in square will only serve up to 18, this is not enough for 20-25(which will be$63)
Bakery makes fully covered fondant cake can easily charge $or higher for each serving
On to the cake did not stay stationary and sinking
I have been delivering wedding cakes for many years, under the extreme heat during the summer without a box in an SUV with air conditioning on and the tier cakes did not fall apart when I arrive at the location (sometimes the drive can be 1hr or more with bright sun shining into the car)
May I ask if there were any pictures taken that shows the cake fall apart? If yes, it will be beneficial for us to see it and find out if we did not build the cake correctly
The client mention over the phone that she have a copy of the order that was giving to her when she placed the order may I get a copy as well? I was also threatened over the phone by the client about how she will tell everyone in Memorial High School not to shop at our bakery, what should I do to dispute this action?
