Review: I would like to make a complaint about the service I received through MemorialCare Health Systems Patient Financial Services Department. After making many, many phone calls to this department regarding a lab bill I perceived had been miscoded with no resolution, I was put in contact with a person who was supposed to be the person to help resolve these issues. I had been calling about this bill for approximately 8 or 9 months trying to figure out why my insurance was not covering it. I was under the impression that it would be paid in full as part of a physical and was repeatedly told it had been submitted with a code that was not preventative. I made multiple calls to my insurance company as well, and they called Memorial Care Patient Financial services too and told me it would be resubmitted. Over and over, I kept hearing the same thing from the financial services department every time I called. When I called and eventually was put in touch with the resolution person (I think it was Sept. 9), he told me there were so many notes that he would need to review them and call me back the next day. I told him about my concern that the latest bill said it was final and I did not want to be sent to collections. He did not call me back the next day and when I called 3 days later another representative told me that the resolution person was on another line but assured me he was still working on the case. Another week or so later, I received a call from Progressive Management Systems telling me my bill was sent to a collections agency.Although I have since resolved the issue with my insurance company, I do not think I received reasonable service with this issue. I never received a call back from the resolution person and was sent to collections despite my multiple attempts to call and find out what the problem was (probably about a dozen). I wish I had written down all the times I called but I know there are notes in their system that would prove it. I wasted many hours and then many more sorting out this issue that was made worse by MemorialCare Health Systems office of Patient Financial Services.Desired Settlement: I would like an apology from MemorialCare Systems and would like to prevent others from having to go so much aggravation.
