Men at Work - The Handyman Company Reviews (4)

The customer hired Men at Work to complete various projects at her residence She asked for an estimate of how much each item would cost I gave her a detailed emails of each items and costsI told her that if I was able to complete the tasks quicker then the estimated amount that I would give her the rate of $per hourThis is a rate per person This however shouldn't even matter due to the fact that she was given a price per item and she could just pay the estimated price We finished each project quicker then estimated and I gave her the hourly rate which was smaller then the estimated rate and billed her less then estimated.Further, after the first day of work at her residence (hour each of two people) I told her that the hourly was cheaper then the quoted price and that the days billing was $the first day She said o.kadded a few more items to the list, and we worked an additional two days (partial days)She is well aware of what the costAt the completion of the job I asked for payment and gave her the totalI added up the quoted prices agreed upon and I added up the hourly priceThe hourly was cheaper so I billed her accordinglyShe at this point was trying to renegotiate and thought the rate was two highI told her that I could not negotiate due to the fact that all my customers are charged the same and it wouldn't be fair to me or them If she wanted to negotiate she should of done it prior to the completion of the project or at least said something after the first day of work when I told here what that day cost her, not let us continue onMy problem with this and why I am not willing to negotiate is that after a day of work and after I told her what that day cost she continued to let us work and complete her list of things to do If she had a problem, or didn't understand the hourly rate she could of said something after the first day I believe she was well aware of the cost and it again was less then the amount that was quoted.I've been in business for a long time and this is the first complaint, of course I do know that this is my first complaint to the Revdex.com too I value my customers greatly and my reputation; I value this because most of my business is based on referrals or repeat customer I feel bad that after completing a project to the customers satisfaction and even coming back at no charge to fix an error with hanging some blinds, that upon completion the end result is this The customer is going to numerous web sites and leaving poor reviews along with that she wants to resolve this and put this behind her I haven't spoken with her since I gave her the bill and only sees her intentions in the reviews that she leaves When we finished the project she was happy with the work until the billingMen at Work does not get $per hour It gets $per person per hour and quite ***ly less then the national average for this areaI still believe she is not happy because I refuse to negotiate after the work is completed.I am firm in my bill that I sent both by email and a self addressed stamped envelopeI too would like to resolve this I expect full payment, and will take further actions if I don't receive t by the end of this week and will not negotiate

The customer hired Men at Work to complete various projects at her residence.  She asked for an estimate of how much each item would cost.  I gave her a detailed emails of each items and costs. I told her that if I was able to complete the tasks quicker then the estimated amount that I...

would give her the rate of $30.00 per hour. This is a rate per person.  This however shouldn't even matter due to the fact that she was given a price per item and she could just pay the estimated price.  We finished each project quicker then estimated and I gave her the hourly rate which was smaller then the estimated rate and billed her less then estimated.Further, after the first day of work at her residence (5 hour each of two people) I told her that the hourly was cheaper then the quoted price and that the days billing was $300.00 the first day.  She said o.k. added a few more items to the list, and we worked an additional two days (partial days). She is well aware of what the cost. At the completion of the job I asked for payment and gave her the total. I added up the quoted prices agreed upon and I added up the hourly price. The hourly was cheaper so I billed her accordingly. She at this point was trying to renegotiate and thought the rate was two high. I told her that I could not negotiate due to the fact that all my customers are charged the same and it wouldn't be fair to me or them.  If she wanted to negotiate she should of done it prior to the completion of the project or at least said something after the first day of work when I told here what that day cost her, not let us continue on. My problem with this and why I am not willing to negotiate is that after a day of work and after I told her what that day cost she continued to let us work and complete her list of things to do.  If she had a problem, or didn't understand the hourly rate she could of said something after the first day.  I believe she was well aware of the cost and it again was less then the amount that was quoted.I've been in business for a long time and this is the first complaint, of course I do know that this is my first complaint to the Revdex.com too.  I value my customers greatly and my reputation; I value this because most of my business is based on referrals or repeat customer.  I feel bad that after completing a project to the customers satisfaction and even coming back at no charge  to fix an error with hanging some blinds, that upon completion the end result is this.  The customer is going to numerous  web sites and leaving poor reviews along with that she wants to resolve this and put this behind her.  I haven't spoken with her since I gave her the bill and only sees her intentions in the reviews that she leaves.  When we finished the project she was happy with the work until the billing. Men at Work does not get $60.00 per hour.  It gets $30.00 per person per hour and quite [redacted]ly less then the national average for this area. I still believe she is not happy because I refuse to negotiate after the work is completed.I am firm in my bill that I sent both by email and a self addressed stamped envelope. I too would like to resolve this.  I expect full payment, and will take further actions if I don't receive t by the end of this week and will not negotiate.
